Congrats, Bubba!

I would describe your results as more-or-less easily predictable based on what you say you are eating.

This should tell you A LOT about the current state of "nutrition science". The default reaction of the average doctor would be like your doctor's...and should really underscore for you how ignorant doctors are of the real state of our understanding of nutrition.

Kudos to you for taking charge of your own health!

Some people can eat up to 50g of NET carbs and stay in ketosis it’s all about your personal body and how fat adapted you are.

Yep, I can go up to about 70g on workout days and 50-60g on non workout days without getting out.

China and India have the highest Type II diabetes rates in the world.

Eating right should be about HEALTH...the weight loss will just follow naturally.

Percentages. So I guess that means numbers too.

ETA: In China, I believe it's as high as 11% of the adult population.

Only thing I'd like to add for you: I'd be just as excited for you even if your LDL had held constant (or even gone up.) It's pretty much a bogus metric.

Your tris plummeting is about the best news around.

Do you think there's a chance you were in pre-diabetes prior to this?

Could be. The doctor hadn't suggested it, though. But he also hadn't suggested Keto, either, so what does he know, right?

All I know is that I was wondering if a heart attack was around the corner. Still, at my age, that's always sort of in the back of your mind. Corporate life, travel, go, go, go all the time.

My opinion (and I actually do go to a keto-friendly doctor) is that if you are eating like you say you are eating, then you won't even need bloodwork to know how you are doing. If something bad is wrong, you will know it way before you get bloodwork.

Just what in the hell do you think "rate" means

Just to add regarding the Asians, I've heard that they literally can't get fat like us, but yeah 10-15 lbs overweight for them is also detrimental.
It's something to do with their "fat threshold" being much lower than ours.

But then again you have those sumo wrestlers so who the hell knows...

I believe you may be right. I've gotten to where I can tell if I've lost, gained or stayed the same weight.

Cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease. Original study hand picked only data that supported what they wanted to prove. Other countries which showed no correlation had all of their data dropped.

Fat is NOT bad for you. Bacon and eggs is good for you!

Clogging of the arteries is caused by all the sugar they put in food. Eating processed granulated sugar causes your inflammation in the arteries.

This inflammation causes cholesterol (something we all need to live) to coat the arteries as a healing mechanism of the body.

Get rid of the inflammation causing sugar and your blood pressure will drop!

Cholesterol isn't the bad boogie man in your arteries. Calcium deposits which can coat the cholesterol is the real killer. Take K2 to help the body direct the calcium away from your blood and into your bones and body.

Didn't see the rate part but you don't have to be rude man. It was just a question.
