re: If you don't have a Ninja Creami and you need protein and love ice cream you need one.

I haven't. I think he newer model lets you do a half blend instead of doing the whole thing. That may prevent the freezing. Really ruins the leftovers.
I used to mix only half at a time but things settle at the bottom when it freezes so I mix the whole pint every single time. I don't find that it ruins the batch at all.

Respin doesn't spin as fast or as long as the other settings. They each have a different duration, speed (rpm), and speed (overall time and downward travel speed)
I find my respin button to be exactly the same....is there truly a difference?

I’ve finally had my Creami long enough to dial in a recipe I like.
250 grams nonfat Greek yogurt
Scoop of protein powder( I use a few different ones)
2 grams xanthan gum
7 grams pudding mix
40 grams egg white to thin it out enough to mix
I sometimes add in some vanilla extract or cinnamon.
Works out to be about 300 calories and 60 grams of protein. I’ll add blueberries or strawberries once I’ve done all the mixing. I try to have it as a mid afternoon snack to help me not be starving at dinner.
Basically makes it impossible not to hit your protein goal and keep calories in check.

I would eat it...but technically what is it? FroYo?

I bought the deluxe from Costco and ended up returning it. I try to eat as carnivore as possible, but some days I don’t hit my desired 175-200 grams of protein. I just couldn’t get comfortable with using pudding mixes and gums.

My go to recipe is below. It tastes great and you would never think that this is "diet" food. I was also hesitant about the xanthan gum, but it really does give the mixture an ice cream like consistency.
1 bottle Fairlife chocolate protein shake
48g chocolate whey protein
2 Tbsp cacao powder
1 Tbsp stevia
1/4 tsp xanthan gum
Mix everything together and hit it with the immersion blender until smooth.
I will get 2 servings out of this. The macros per serving are below.

I tried the regular vanilla base (no default recipe deviations) at first to get the kids on board before experimentation. However, when I tried to make a chocolate base with protein powder, the cocoa powder just clumps in tiny little balls. Is there a secret to getting it blended properly to make the base? I was using a spatula to blend, but I'm not sure if using beaters will make it any better.

Use an immersion blender and blend until the mixture is smooth. If you tilt it a bit, the immersion blender will make a vortex and the whole mixture will blend nicely.

I totally forgot I have one in a box above the stove.

Like previous poster said, immersion blender or put it in a blender before pouring into the pints. My blender holds enough to fill 2 pints. I was just shy of filling 3 last time I made ice cream.
For all those saying you don't like using pudding mix. Don't use it. I never use zantham gum.
Adding 1 whole egg per pint does help though add some richness. It'll add 60-70 calories but also adds 6-7 g of protein.

We've tried the protein shake/almond milk/pudding/cottage cheese/etc recipes and some were OK, but nothing really like ice cream. They were almost always crumbly and had an odd texture/aftertaste due to the 0 cal sweeteners.
The base recipe we've been using isn't as healthy macro-wise. However, it's better than store bought and approved by the entire family. I actually got this recipe from Grok.
12oz FairLife 2% Chocolate Milk
1 scoop Protein Powder (I use ON Gold Chocolate)
2 Tbs Honey
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Tbs Peanut Butter (optional)
Yields 2 servings
230 Cal
22g Protein
27.5g Carb
4.4g Fat
My kids love making smoothie bowls in it using fruit and Pedialyte.

I use a basic milk frother to mix mine. My kids tend to use the blender for their fruit smoothie bowls. It helps with the seeds in the berries and (since they use frozen fruit a lot of the time) the hardness of the fruit.

I use a basic bullet blender and it always comes out very smooth
Posted on 6/18/25 at 1:43 pm to TigerTatorTots
Use my ninja blender. With the single serving smoothie cup/blade. So basically a bullet blender. I like how mine has measurement marks on the side so I don't have to get something else out to measure stuff.

Just got mine for Father's Day, and it's the best thing in the world to me right now. I'm slightly annoyed with all the ingredients I don't have to make this ice cream more healthy, but I'll eventually get a nice inventory to make some more delicious shite.

I ordered one. What do I need to order to make a few batches and store these in the freezer? Some sort of special containers?
Posted on 6/18/25 at 3:21 pm to LEASTBAY
Comes with 2 pints. Amazon sells packs of 4

Thanks. I ordered 2 more.

Finally got one today. Bought some extra cups and they came in yesterday so I was able to have some ready to go. I made a peanut butter high protein ice cream. After putting it through the machine my wife and I were floored. It was the most non diet tasting diet food I’ve ever eaten. Wish I had got one a long time ago. The only downside is having to think ahead but I can’t wait to try some more recipes. I had gotten pretty tired of chugging protein drinks and this will be a great alternative.
