Just curious what everyone's preference is when hitting the gym regularly...

full body usually. I don't do bro splits though. stick to proven programs

I use a 5 day upper/lower split with 3 upper and 2 lower days.
Some exercises (like deads) don't easily fit either upper or lower, but that's the general idea.

I've done both over the years and by far have had much more progress doing full body splits OR at the very least an Upper/Lower twice a week.
Two times a week seems to be the optimal training frequency for a body part.

a lot of it depends on how advanced of a lifter you are. full body is definitely the way to go in the beginning. the best advice though is to follow tried and proven programs regardless of what you decide.

Agreed. Full body is good for beginners because they are using lower weights that they can handle without needing as much variation and rest.
For a beginner, a proven program and consistency are the two big things in terms of working out. Pick any reputable linear program and do it consistently and that area of things will be fine.

I like full body. My body works harder when doing so. I have to pump up the volum doing split lifts to get a solid session.

I prefer upper/lower or push/pull/legs splits.
Currently on a push/pull/legs split that I'm liking.

I can go 3 for upper stuff because that fatigues me far less. I never get overall hammering fatigue from upper work like I do from squats.

Push/Pull/Legs is what I've pretty much done for the past few years, working each muscle group about once every 4-5 days.
I'll occasionally go upper/lower if I know I won't as many chances to hit the gym in a given week.

Full body, but with concentrated splits.
I'll work upper hard with enough lower to keep me tired one day, and then flip the next and go hard lower.
I do an hour and a half-ish M-Th afternoons, take friday off, and then 2-2.5 saturday am.

I do upper body splits but hit the lower body with Squats, dead’s and front squats three times a week. It’s a hybrid.

Full body just because if I miss a day or two that's a long time between working a body part. If my schedule was more regular maybe it would be okay. Even if I dont have much time I can usually get two workouts a week in. That's okay for full body. Not so much for a split routine.

I am a split man myself modified push pull legs

Tues: back, biceps
Wed: legs, shoulders
Thurs: chest, tris
Fri: back, biceps
Sat: legs, shoulders
Sun: rest
Just curious for the upper/lower split guys. How many exercises are you able to get in for each body part? Just seems like everything would have to be super low volume or just long arse lift sessions.
