I wish, but the drive is less than 10 mins, so it’s not bad.

Morning.

I'm up at 5:15am to get loose, get lunches ready, start preparing for kids and the day.

I'm in the garage by 6:00am and lift until 6:45am. If it's a running day, I shift my schedule a bit and run from 5:45am to 6:30am.

If I don't sleep well the night before, I'll shift weight lifting to the afternoon, but that's pretty rare.

I started lifting in the AM when kid #1 was born 25 years ago. I would be in the gym at 0500 and in the office by 0800. Started doing jits about 20 years ago and would catch our first adult class on my way home from work 3 days a week. That made for a long day. Now I instruct some and mostly just free roll with the upper belt guys. Still lift early even though kids are grown now.

I've pretty much done it all over the years, doing it in the mornings, at lunch at a gym near work, in the evenings at a gym or at home. Before we had kids the wife and I would go together after work. Most of the time we'd just meet there, but occasionally run home first. Those were much easier times. After our first was born, I would go at lunch time. After our second was born, I tried mornings. Didn't last long. Now I pretty much always work out at night once all the kids are in bed. Well, at least the younger two. The oldest is in high school so she's doing her own thing. I've been the most consistent the past couple of years doing it at night.

I'm a morning person. I trained for 5k-marathons and it was just always conducive to knock it out while everyone else was sleeping.

Morning workouts are awesome having that sense of accomplishment before the day has even really begun, but with young kiddos I don’t have enough Jocko Big Dick Energy to wake up that early. I prefer the late nights lifts.

I used to work 5 minutes from my house with a gym in between my house and work. I also finished most days around 3:30 and had younger kids. I worked out on the way home back then.

I work an hour away from home and often don't get home until after 6pm. As a result my wife and I both get up at 4:40am and hit the gym every morning together. If I don't get it in early, it doesn't happen, unfortunately. Too many things that can interfere.

When my kids are out of school it is even better. Get extra sleep and get to hit the gym after 6:30am when its really slow.

PPSA over lunch M/T/Th/F
4 mile run over lunch Wednesday
Find time to squeeze in a long run either Saturday or Sunday.

I’m at the office by 6 am so morning would be tough and like having my afternoons and evenings open to do stuff with the kids. Lunch is easiest, gym is next to my office.

I have to get up early and then get after it as I need to be at my office by 7AM.

There's something to be said for accomplishing tasks early in the morning. It sets a tone for the day.

By the time I start work, I'll have worked out, made my side of the bed, and had bible study.

I get to the office and I'm already going hard. I just shake my head in our daily brief as all my folks show up acting like they just woke up. I know I get on their nerves because I'm the only morning person there.

5 year old at home with activities on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. I work from 7-4. At the gym at 5am until 550ish. Home for 6 to shower and get dressed and off to work sitting at my desk for 7.

I guess spending 5 years in the Marines made me like popping out of bed and working out I'm not sure but it works for me.
