Insurance is the key issue. If you’re willing to bypass and pay out of pocket, you’ll get on TRT.

I was 29 with levels in the low 100’s. 100mg/week changed my life.

Age is really irrelevant. If he’s symptomatic and his levels are on the low end of normal, there’s no shame in treating him.

For me I’ve got 1 son and wife is pregnant with daughter. We don’t care to have any more children and I’m planning on getting a vasectomy later this year anyway.

Last year smoked me, had our first kid, built a house, study/complete my CFP ®, and run my practice during a global pandemic.

I tried for 8 months after it all to just take it easy but my energy never came back. It was really hard bc I was wanting to spend time with my son and just didn’t have the energy. So I went and had full labs done including thyroid and got on TRT.

This shite has been a game changer needless to say. I’m a huge believer in it. My biggest concern is just being dependent on it at this point if shite hit the fan and you lose access lol

Why are there so many dudes in their early 30s with testosterone problems? A males physical prime is like 28-33.

Guess it’s just different for everybody. The day I hit 30 I woke up and my sternum started to pop and it was downhill from there lol.

I’ve always been a glutton for punishment to see how far I could push my body too though.

Mingo but testosterone peak is at age 17-20 and starts to slowly decline.

Diet, lack of lifting, and starting steroids in late teen/early 20's has a lot to do with it.

Mine was apparently from racking the frick out of myself when I was in boot camp. That's started the varicosile and everything that happened after that to start the decline and start my fertility problems.

I understand there's circumstances like this, but trt is exploding in the last ~decade. 33 year old dudes shouldn't need test.

There is also a lot of cash pay clinics that don't necessarily care if you NEED TRT. If you want it and your levels are on the lower half of the spectrum, they'll get it. There is good money in wellness/anti-aging.

I finally convinced my GP to include testosterone in my annual physical bloodwork a couple of years ago. It was slightly less than the low end of the range for my age. I didn’t do anything about it because I felt like my body felt as good as my 20’s.

I got it checked a few months ago and was barely in the normal range (maybe 252?). I’m in my 40s and still feeling great, weights & basketball good as ever, little fella doing great, usually sleep well, plenty of energy.

Soft tissue injuries such as calf strains are more common now but I try to manage it. Would higher test have any impact on that? Or any other benefits besides gainz (which I don’t think is a big goal anyway)?

While there are always abuse issues, you should never fault someone for trying to live their life in a better state.

If some 30-40 year old is rocking T in the 200-400 range and they feel like being in the 800-1000 range, let them be. It is not your problem or concern.

I feel the same way. It's like nobody can get past 30 and not need trt? People just need to man up and go to the gym. Lol be consistent and stop with all the fricking excuses. When you 45-50 and can't open the door to the gym then yea get some legal juice.

Yall gonna love that response.

Should I have just manned up after my last kid? When I got off of the fertility treatment( which was clomid and hcg, essentially a post cycle therapy at extreme doses for a fricking year) my levels were between 60-80.

Should I have just sucked it up cause I was early 30s and been miserable?

Why do you care if I take trt or not? I don't play a sport besides golf and it sure as frick isn't professional. I don't powerfully in meets, frick I don't even post maxes on here except maybe in the daily thread every once in a while. frick I don't even go to a public gym and only work out in my garage.....so how is it affecting you that I should just man up?

And yea legal juice...juicing to the girls with that 750mg/dl total testosterone score I'm sporting. To the gills baby.

No one is talking about you specifically, I thought that was pretty clear. There's obviously needed cases of TRT, just like any medicine or treatment.

You could argue the same for statins or all the other bullshite the average American was on. Most wouldn't need testosterone or statins or insulin if they'd get their fat asses off the couch and do something productive.

I really have no idea why other people on TRT bothers you so much. Kind of disturbing and creepy.

I mean, I find it a bit concerning that males in or just leaving what should be their physical prime being deficient in the most important hormone in their body causing moodiness, fatigue, etc. Seems to not be a good thing for society, no?

I really have no idea why so many people on it are so damn defensive. If you have a legitimate medical condition I'm clearly not talking about you.

But we've seen an insane increase in the use of TRT in the less than a decade, why?

I agree and yea I knew you weren't talking about me specifically. The guy above just came off as pompous, that's why I responded.

I usually discourage most on here from going trt route unless it's truly needed.

Truth be told trt sucks. The shots suck fricking arse after a while especially when taking it twice a week like it should be. Just so happens for those that need it, the alternative sucks worse.

But if you are done having kids and your test is low, I don't blame people. Very low risk and in general high reward. That's assuming they have already made the necessary life style changes.

Now I disagree about statins. Assuming one doesn't get the joint and muscle discomfort some experience, I think almost everyone should be on them similar to vitamin.
