So FDA finally approved Lilly's Mounjaro(tirzepatide) for weightloss. which means many that where having to pay out of pocket will have this covered by insurance now. So far this is the most effective of the GLP-1 class weightloss drugs as Tirzepatide contains ingredients that activate GLP-1 plus GIP hormone receptors. Big news as this is much stronger with less sides than traditional GLP-1 like wegovy.

in the 72 week trial of over 2000 people

quote:

At the highest dose (15 mg), people taking Zepbound lost on average 48 lb., while at the lowest dose (5 mg), people lost on average 34 lb. (compared to 7 lb. on placebo).

Additionally, 1 in 3 patients taking Zepbound at the highest dose lost over 58 lb. (25% of body weight), compared to 1.5% on placebo, according to data not controlled for type 1 error. The average starting weight was 231 lb.

While not approved to treat these conditions, in a clinical trial, people who dieted, exercised and took

So how does it actually work to make you lost weight? Just appetite suppression?

yea same as all the otehr GLP-1s. it reduces the dopamine response and suppress appetite. it also tends to correct bad behaviors by making you feel like shite if you gorge or eat shitty foods.

Trust the pharmaceutical companies. They’re never wrong! frick hard work and discipline when you can just take a shot.

Think about this, they don’t want us well. They want us overweight, unhealthy, etc so they can sell us other drugs.

Think about the amount of money they will make if they have a miracle drug to combat obesity in an ever-increasing calorie rich environment. This one doesn't have to be a conspiracy - they can just sell their idea of the silver bullet to obesity and will rake in the money, and ultimately we could have better long term health outcomes because of the drug.

lol na bro…..95% that get on this will not make the lifestyle changes needed and will jump to highest dose asap and then prolly be on for life. At over 1k per month that is bank. Tons of money in curing obesity, tons of patients.

I’m for this medicine, explained why 100 times. It is a safe compound and if you understand the mechanisms at work you would understand why. It’s essentially a peptide just activating receptors already in the body with chemicals already in the body. Same as like growth hormone peptides and that class

But I’m for anything that helps people not be a fat arse and make better choices. The thing I like about glp1 is for the most part it punishes you if you make bad choices and continue to try and eat like you did previously. But for the most part people just eat less, don’t prioritize protein and don’t lift and jump to highest dose unfortunately. So they are lifers on the drugs.

But I’m for anything that has me looking at less fatties, even if it’s former fatties with now no muscle and loose skin.

My wife, like most women, has been talking about this shite forever. In her circles, tons of women are admittedly on it. Even more are clearly on it (as evidenced by dramatic weight loss... without any increase in exercise or apparent change in routine).

Main thing they complain about are significant constipation.

One of the women she knows got on it to drop weight for her wedding. Got to her weight. Got off it after the wedding. Within just a couple of months was back to pre-wedding weight and body composition.

yep because they jump up in dosing big time instead of making lifestyle changes. depend on the medicine to lose weight.

I just posted a protocol on how it should be used imo.

Dummy here but how is this different from Ozampic?

Also with his messing with dopamine did they see any changes in depression and motivation? I assume any changes would be offset by losing weight and the joy of that
