Lacoste stretch slim fit
I am 5'8", 175 lbs and these fit well untucked, and last 10 years easy.

Vineyard vines sankaty polo is the most comfortable shirt I’ve ever worn. To me it’s better than rhoback, millar and William Murry. They are great shirts.
The only negative is they don’t have many solids. You can get them on sale for $50-$60.

Do any of these polos feel like the chubbies? I’m looking for that kind but less “loud”

Peter Millar for business casual. Get them during their seasonal sales for $50-60

The typical American male has skinny legs, a big waist, a proportionally small chest and narrow shoulders. That's who standard brands size their clothes for. As I said upthread, Banana Republic fits me well. I have trouble with other brands.
This. It ruined Lacoste shirts for me. Too baggy around the waste. I am not a fan of Ralph Lauren but at least their custom slim fit is not made for slobs. I think you need a shirt that has a "normal" and then slimmer option too. One size fits all means you get baggy fit.

Banana republic athletic fit is the first dress shirt I have found that I don’t need Tailored.
For reference 5’11” with a long torso and wider shoulders. I wear a large in most shirts to fit me in the shoulders but they look like bags around my chest and stomach. Then mediums sits weird on my shoulders and flairs up around my arms. The BR athletic fits good everywhere.
I still have yet to find pants or shorts that fit my waist, butt, and short legs. They either fit around my butt and are loose around the waist or fit my waist and the pockets flair out.
