I know it’s like the next coming of god etc. I have gained some extra weight after taking steroids for a while in early Fall and really needed to lose 15 pounds or so.

Any extra 15 really starts to cause back pain. Anyway I decided to try a shot to just get the loss started and holy shite I had no idea this shite is like kryptonite or something. 2 weeks after the shot and I still can barely eat anything. The idea of food makes me nauseous. Lost 10 easy so far but the side effects, holy shite u pay for this.

Throwing up, constantly nauseous, can barely sleep, tired all the time. Blood pressure so low very dizzy when I stand up. (And I have high blood pressure) dehydration, headaches, feel like complete total shite.

Be careful with this shite, particularly if you are guy. It works but….

So how many shots did you take? Just a single dose?

Losing weight by starvation isn’t the best of game plans. Thanks for your story. Hope you keep it off.

You should think about getting tested.

You obviously took way over the starting dose which is 0.25mg

Let me guess, you have “stomach paralysis” too??

Most of the weight loss will come from lean muscle. Enjoy being skinny fat.

There’s no substitute for hard work and discipline. Break a sweat.

Was on it for awhile and lost 36 lbs, never felt any of the symptoms you describe. I only started it because my doctor gave me the code for $25 and that has since expired to where you can't get it for that price

George, op is dumbass and or a liar but that is not true on the lean muscle thing. The loss of muscle is not from the drug, it’s dumbasses starving themselves on it and getting literally 10g protein a day.

I actually haven’t looked into it in depth. Petter Attia though does say you’ll get skinny fat.

But I’m wrong in that most of the loss is from lean muscle.

quote:

Ozempic may prompt equal muscle-to-fat loss, says Attia. Meaning: even though you see the number on the scale drop, your fat-to-muscle percentage is skyrocketing. In an Instagram story, Attia notes that some muscle loss is expected in weight loss patients, but drugs like Ozempic can exacerbate the issue. “Almost without exception, every patient we’ve put on this drug has lost muscle mass. And they have lost it at a rate that alarms me,” he says. “If you lost ten pounds of muscle and ten pounds of fat to go from 200 to 180, would that be good? Only if you were more than 50 percent body fat.”

False.

I have been on Ozempic for about 5 months now. Not only have I retained my muscle, but I am also getting stronger and I have lost ~20 pounds. I went up 25 pounds on my squat max last month.

And to the OP, you either didn't start at the starting dose or you titrated up way too fast.

God I hope you mean for medicinal reasons and not for the purpose of physical performance/appearance. I'm all for someone taking a cycle or two to reach their goals if they feel they have plateaued, but "taking steroids for a while" just a couple months ago, and already gaining 15lbs of fat, then taking the dumb/easy way out to losing weight tells me a lot about you. Also, its not the steroids that caused you to get fat. Its you being lazy and undisciplined. Congrats on getting fat again as soon as you get off the Ozempic.

Peter is wrong and not basing it on anything scientific. There are no mechanisms for glp-1 to burn muscle, actually a little of the opposite. Dr seeds who is way way more knowledgeable of peptides has talked about this.

But he is of the same opinion as me, very minimal dosing and using lifestyle changes layered in slowly to cause the weight loss with the client tracking calories and protein and doing true resistance training

Hell even elly Lilly showed that even after losing massive amounts of weight and stalling..when their doctors, nutritionist and trainers stepped in people lost even more bodyfat, like all other 20%

Peter is just looking at people taking it and cooralating it. Sure if you do that away it’s true but that’s not a study. There have been plenty that have shown muscle gains while on it. Key as it is without it is not to drastically cut calories, eat 1g protein minimum per lbs of bw and lift progressively

Serious question, is one supposed to congratulate / compliment someone who lost weight on Ozempic as you would for someone who lost it the old fashioned way? Ie, “wow you look great!”

I think being gracious to anyone making any effort to get healthier is the way to go. Hopefully, a significant portion of people on this will use it to make other healthy lifestyle changes and not just rely on it as a band-aid. Maybe a word of encouragement can help prompt those changes.

You can re-phrase it and say "congrats on lowering your BP, A1c, improving your arthritic joints, and reducing your risk of cardiovascular death."

I’m sure he’s referring to corticosteroids, not anabolics.

Exactly. It isn’t a complete miracle shot you take and just wake up less fat the next day You still must show discipline, be in a deficit, eat clean, workout, etc…. Sure, there’s dumbasses like OP and my sister in law who take it and eat canes the same day but those people will not have success at all, only a shite load of side effects and smaller bank account.
