Is it weird to anyone but me that these natural deodorants have so much oil in them? One problem is I find this can leave oil stains on shirts. Also doesn’t seem very cooling. I use Tom’s of Maine which doesn’t contain oil

Schmidt's

I've been using this for years and they have a lot of varieties.

I took massive heat on the OT a few weeks ago during a washcloth/shower thread for saying people shouldn't be using a bunch of products, but I stand by it.

I take showers with no soap (I use shampoo for hair and give a dollop to nether regions and armpits), keep the pit hair trimmed and use Schmidt's. Not even a hint of BO or anything like that.

If you want an actual smell that you think smells good, sure. Your armpits could smell like death but if throw in some baking soda, your pits will smell like absolute nothing. It wont keep you from sweating and it can irritate some people but I just keep a little box of it in my truck.

Right but it can come out of other pores in your body just not under your arms. Not a big deal

So you don't smell like either arse or flowers and do you don't run around looking like an idiot with big ole wet spots under your arms.

Again, I wear deodorant. It covers up smell. I shower daily. That helps prevent smell. I’m also not fat, and I trim my pits. That cuts down on the sweat.

Never even thought about this. I don't scape anything but my head, an I missing out on cooling effects of more manscaping? I don't give a shite how it looks but if it gets me cooler I'm in.

I shower twice a day... an not fat... I just sweat like a ... well... like something that sweats alot. Nothing looks worse than big wet spots under your arms on your shirt. Glad you can get by without them.

And I'm not trimming my pits because I am straight and not a competitive swimmer. JUST KIDDING.

I've tried pretty much every single one on the market and Native is the only one that remotely worked at all on me in helping prevent sweat and BO

Just say "no" to antiperspirants.

You're body has enough places to sweat without one that causes inconveniences in certain settings. Unless there are allergy issues or it causes skin irritations there is no health reason to avoid antiperspirants but they do have just a deodorant option.

Don’t wear synthetic clothes and don’t shower for a few weeks. The plethoric flora thriving on your body creates its own odor-reduction system (biome or Pauly Shore’s Biodome).
Highly Scientific Guardian Article

Sarah Ballantyne, a medical biophysicist turned author and lifestyle guru known as the Paleo Mom, has been an advocate of living in a more “stone age” way since reaching a healthy weight after adopting the Paleo diet. She, too, uses only water to wash, even though she is “at the gym sweating buckets six hours a week”. “I use coconut oil to shave and that’s it,” she says. “Over time, my skin has adjusted. I don’t smell.” She is working on a book about the human microbiome and is convinced her odour-free armpits are a sign that her skin microbiome is healthy.

That's just nasty.
There is a 100% chance you both stink and go nose blind.

Tom’s and Native are both good. I have a sweating problem and they have both worked fine for me. After a while of wearing regular deo, I smell kind of weird. With those that never happens.

Based on no reply I'll assume no one solved their hotness issues with deforestation of the southern woods. I might be willing to try anything after spending the week in LA and averaging 2+ showers a day.

I mean, yes, if you trim your hair, you're going to be somewhat cooler. Also, hair retains scent, so less hair means less scent retained.

I think I already mentioned in this thread, but the combination of losing weight and trimming my pits cut down on my sweating issues significantly.
