I had the first shingrix shot and am due for the second coming up. First one messed me up flu-like pretty bad and hesitant about the second dose but sounds like I need to cowboy up and get it.

Same here. Second one knocked me down for day or two.

You may have already gotten the vaccine. But yes, get the shot. I'm 63 and had shingles in May. It's by far the most pain I've ever had. Much worse than having a baby. Maybe equal to a scratched cornea, but that didn't last very long. I had them on a nerve area that curved around my left side from the back and even had some that were in my belly button.

I could barely stand up. My master BR is upstairs and I had to lean on the railing and go slowly down and up stairs. Any movement was just excruciating. Like other, I know people who had side effects from shingles as well.

Reading about a few of you describe the severity of shingles either you or someone you know had makes me feel like I lucked out.

I only had it on the back left side and the shirt covered it up, back in 2017.

But it took me two months to get over it. It was painful when I had it, but fortunately, recovered from the effects and really don't notice any effects.

I am going to get the Shingrix vaccine. I am really glad they updated it, as the one before it was from my research, not very effective.

I had a weird case of shingles when I was in my 30's. I just got it on my left arm between the elbow and shoulder.

It didn't spread anywhere else, but those blisters hurt like hell. I'm 50 now and debating whether I want to take that vaccine.

I got shingles around age of 33, roughly 15 years ago. I never had any noticeable chicken pox symptoms as a kid.

I assume no need to get vaccine now although heard it’s possible to have shingles twice?

Yep. First shot was just a sore arm. 2nd shite ruined my weekend with flu like symptoms.

I got the two shots in 2025. The first shot made my shoulder sore for about 12 hours. The second shot didn’t even make my shoulder sore.

If it keeps me from getting shingles, I am all in. It’s also easy to recommend since I didn’t have any serious side effects at all.

I had the Shingrix combo last year. Little pain at injection site but that’s about it. On the flip side I know people that suffered for months with shingles because they weren’t vaccinated

Got shot #1 this month. Slight soreness. I think my second is in March.

My wife got shingles twice. First time was about 15 yrs ago down her arm along the C5-6 dermatome (nerve path). Second time was this year in her eye. Very painful. Luckily, she made a full recovery with no residual visual loss. She is now vaccinated.

ETA: I plan to get the 2 vaccine shots this year.

Got shot 1 yesterday. Walked in to grocery store pharmacy and was done in less than 5 minutes. Arm is sore today and I don’t feel great, not awful but not normal. I planned it so I could have a zero day today.
