I had the first shingrix shot and am due for the second coming up. First one messed me up flu-like pretty bad and hesitant about the second dose but sounds like I need to cowboy up and get it.

Same here. Second one knocked me down for day or two.

You may have already gotten the vaccine. But yes, get the shot. I'm 63 and had shingles in May. It's by far the most pain I've ever had. Much worse than having a baby. Maybe equal to a scratched cornea, but that didn't last very long. I had them on a nerve area that curved around my left side from the back and even had some that were in my belly button.

I could barely stand up. My master BR is upstairs and I had to lean on the railing and go slowly down and up stairs. Any movement was just excruciating. Like other, I know people who had side effects from shingles as well.

Reading about a few of you describe the severity of shingles either you or someone you know had makes me feel like I lucked out.

I only had it on the back left side and the shirt covered it up, back in 2017.

But it took me two months to get over it. It was painful when I had it, but fortunately, recovered from the effects and really don't notice any effects.

I am going to get the Shingrix vaccine. I am really glad they updated it, as the one before it was from my research, not very effective.

I had a weird case of shingles when I was in my 30's. I just got it on my left arm between the elbow and shoulder.

It didn't spread anywhere else, but those blisters hurt like hell. I'm 50 now and debating whether I want to take that vaccine.

I got shingles around age of 33, roughly 15 years ago. I never had any noticeable chicken pox symptoms as a kid.

I assume no need to get vaccine now although heard it’s possible to have shingles twice?
