She's stronger than me, but at least I don't wear gloves. Hell I don't even mix grip deadlifts - hook grip all the way

No. Complimentary color on the color wheel. Obviously. You’re such a dumb manly male with no fashion sense.

Yes. At nearly 60 years old, the slight extra cushion in the gloves allows me to do more reps/weight without my hand cramping. The cushion also helps me do more dips than I can bare-handed for the same reason.

The decrease in callouses is a side benefit.

Yeah, I agree. I've never used them for lifting, but if I find some that increase my grip, absolutely I'll wear them. There are times when it's not going to be the muscles that give out first, but the grip. If gloves improve the grip, and therefore improve performance, why not wear them?

Why would this make anyone think about sucking dick? That comment itself seems really gay, and obviously shows they were already thinking about it.

I'm 61 y/o, work in Healthcare, and have arthritis in both hands. So yeah I use gloves now, otherwise the pain gets bad and they help me keep a grip on the bar. So, call me a candyarse, I do not care. Get my age, you do what you gotta do and could not care less what others think.

Nothing wrong with wearing gloves. Regardless of age, if you get your deadlift high enough, you'll notice grip is the main obstacle and that's why people use straps. If gloves help too, even better. There are a number of other useful applications and good reasons to wear gloves. I've looked around at buying some, but never saw any that seemed worth it, so I may have to order online.

If someone has an issue with people wearing gloves or straps, that's their problem. And if they start having gay thoughts, my goodness, that's latent homosexuality or something.

Fifty six. I tried gloves once...hated it. I love a direct connection between the bar and my hands. The Rogue bare steel ohio power bar has some serious grip that I love. Also have a Rogue curl bar with cerakote that has much less grip but a really nice feel to it. Any issues I have had with grip was just me holding incorrectly and an adjustment was all I needed.

Callouses? shite I live on a farm...already had those.

Do you think of the gym as a fashion show or what?
That minor peeling of skin you got is going to do nothing for your lifts and doesn't make anyone think you're tough. You seem proud of it, though. What amazing feat did you achieve doing that? Oh and what were you wearing? That's of prime importance of course.

Pulled 2.6 times bodyweight for 1 on deadlift easy. Not great, but solid

You probably could have done more if you were wearing straps or gloves.

I'm not worked up. I will be when I have some caffeine later. I just don't see how the aversion to gloves makes any sense. Just like how they're used in various sports to improve performance, if they're useful, you wear them.

I use Grease Monkey bulk pack gloves from Sam’s Club. Rubber palms and fingers and breathable stretch fabric on the back of fingers and hand. Sure, it may look goofy to others but I get a much better grip on dumbbells and any apparatus connected to cables.
