It's a great workout. I haven't been able to do them lately because I stabbed my arm with an errant sharp branch skiing and now have some weird tendonitis in that arm. Trying to rest it.

Between swimming and push-ups i can stay pretty toned.

I should do them lots more than I do. I usually bust out sets up to 150 a couple times a week

I don't, although I do a fair amount of push-ups to supplement weight lifting and other exercise. One great thing about them is that all of the different variations are so easy to try and effective in different ways.

Wide for chest, narrow for tri, inclines and declines, hands flat on ground or on dumbbells, one hand on a basketball and other flat, etc.

What are the benefits of doing pushups every night in addition to lifting? I used to do a lot of pushups, but switched to lifting about a year ago.

at one time I would do 20 pushups at the top of every hour in my office

by the end of the day, I would have done 200 push ups

I need to get back to that

It was a nice, easy supplemental workout

So, is this something that I should do 2 or 3 sets to failure? Or more like a percentage of the most pushups I can do? Last time I did regular flat handed pushups I think I could to 75 or so.

I was thinking of going with some regular pushups and feet elevated with diamond hand placement as well.

I do minimum 20 push-ups every night before sleeping. It refreshes my mind and helps me to sound sleep.

Did 4 miles last night for cardio day. Slammed a Mcy-D's grilled chicken sandwich, medium fry, and vanilla shake afterwards. Figured this would be a good thread to get that off my chest.

It was worth it.
