Anyone cut out coffee for lent?

I've done it for the past few years and still can't get over how much better I feel without it. My energy stabilizes and my addition to heavy cream is hindered .

I wouldn't say you've quite gave up carbs. How was your experience last year sans coffee?

Well everything but a few slices of purple onion, some kale and an avocado. Can't give up much more. think I am bad about giving up coffee, ask me to give up avocados too, somebody is catching an arse whooping.

Last year was fine after a couple days. I was popping caffeine pills and drinking monster and coffee a stupid amount. like over a gram of caffeine a day on average some days close to 2g some days. My nervous system was shite that even after taking 500mg I was falling asleep. It was bad.

For a couple of days I had caffeine withdrawal and got bad headaches. After that is tarted feeling better and better. Now a days I drink either a cup in the morning and sometimes like once a week I have a monster in the afternoon. Trying to go strictly black coffee though over the course of the next few weeks. Trying to be a little more health conscious.

Not gonna lie though those first few days last year wee rough from an energy standpoint. But I never craved it or anything like that.

I drink an absurd amount of coffee. I like it strong and black (huhhuh), and generally prefer lighter roasts (therefore higher caffeine). I drink a fairly large pot a day, with lots of water. I basically just pee all day. But if I go without for a few days, I don't get headaches.

I do need to conduct some ADD experiments on myself, because I'm all over the place until about noon. Also, I try to avoid CA's "everything causes cancer" mania, but I am a little concerned about pesticides and the cancer agents created in the roasting process. Nah, f it. I buy organic and, again, light roasts, so I'll roll the dice.

I am starting to question the wisdom of my Splenda intake. I would love to switch to something else. HATE Stevia products. Hell, I may just go back to sugar.

I can't do artificial sweetener. Tastes disgusting to me.

Try unsweetened almond milk. I think it tastes really good.

Splenda tastes better in coffee to me than even sugar.

I do that and/or coconut when doing whole 30. It's my least favorite part of that diet, and I count the days to when I can have Splenda again.

I like Splenda in coffee but sugar in the raw with a little half and half is my jam.

Artificial sweeteners make my teeth feel like rubber. I can’t drink them.

i recently discovered, at Walmart of all places, macadamia milk. The unsweetened unflavored kind. It is delicious, and i don't like nut milk generally.

The consistency is great too--like the old Kleinpeter Guernsey Gold (even creamier).

And it's a great fat source for people looking to add good fat without increasing protein or carbs for macro goals (noketodebate!), as macadamias have VERY little PUFA, a tad of saturated--overwhelmingly MUFA.

I don't see walmart continuing to carry this, but i do applaud them for trying new stuff.

I know it sounds weird but I can tell immediately if something has a lot of artificial sweeteners.

It is really bad with energy drinks. Only tried them a few times. Never again.

you don't like the monster ultra's? I love all of them except the yellow. Bang is the best.
