I did it last night and it was destructive. I wore my lifters. My suggestion is play around with holding the dumbbells it got really hard trying to find the best way to hold it after round 7. I ended up just laying them across my shoulder and just trying to balance them with my hands.

My clean PR is 220 and I started at 165 and i should have started at 185. I also let someone talk me into going from 205 to 225 which was a mistake. Know what weights you want to hit and don't let anyone talk you out of it. I would suggest not starting real heavy because I honestly didn't think I could lift 165 after I got done. My legs were just smoked.

I finished in 10:20 and cleaned 205. I think I'm going to do it again Sunday so I can hopefully get more weight.

teamRICHEY on youtube suggested that once your shoulders get tired from DBs to rest them on your traps and hold your hands on them, that is allowed.

That's pretty much what I did but I paid for it. The top of my back is bruised up from it.

I was considering just resting them on my traps from rd 3 on to save myself a little. Would you do the first part again with the lifters or change shoes before going to 18.2B?

Also, belt or no belt? I'm not a big fan of wearing my belt but I might make an exception for today

I used lifters the whole time and if I do it again I will use lifters. I never wear a belt when doing cleans or snatches. I always end up hitting my belt and it slows down my pull and it hurts.

Sounds good, I appreciate the advice man. Our clean totals are pretty similar so I'll definitely keep your strategy in mind when I go this evening.

I did it this morning. Sucked. Bad. Squats and burpees are my two nemesis.

I may try again Monday to do better.

I let it get into my head. I was the only one there except my judge. With a judge counting for me I tend to zone out but I unintentionally calculated the numbers in my head. Realized at round 5 I was only 1/4 of the way done and I started thinking about it.

Would have much rather this been a reverse ladder!

Thanks for the tips and good luck. I'll hit this one tonight. Shooting for around 8 minutes on 18.2 and 215-230 on 18.2a. I'm better at power clean than squat clean, so I won't be relying on my legs "as much" as people who are really strong with the squat clean.

I'll start with 185/195, then hopefully hit 205/215, then 215-230 on my last lift.

For those about to rock I salute you!

11:43 and 188rx

8s and 9s will test you. If you are a slow burpeeiere you may only have one Clean. I left about 30 lbs on the table.

Nice work. I'll keep that in mind. I can definitely see where doing this one twice would help immensely

How're you feeling? Maybe, it was because I was starting to get a head cold, but that one workout made me feel like I do after doing a 3 workout competition.

I am pretty beat up. But alot of it is from Wednesday, I really went at some deadlifts which I dont do too often. My posterior chain is kinda worn out.

I wouldnt do it again to get the bigger clean, I wouldnt want to do the round of 8 or 9 again.

I grabbed a bar that the previous guy used. It has the blue rouge plates on it, so I added a 25 and a 2.5 to start at 190.

As I lay there afterwards I looked over and he had used the kg plates. I just giggled.

I’m doing it again on Monday. 8:49 Rx and hit the wall at 205.

The DB squats and burpees weren’t too bad. I think I can get close to 8 min on 18.2.

Need to keep my form together for 18.2A.

7:34 Rx
215 cleans. I dropped #220 with 3 seconds left and had the damn bar almost all the way up, fml.

This one was fun. I feel like I could lift more on the clean and drop another 10-15 seconds on the first part if I try again. Did it in lifters, I highly recommend it if you can manage doing burpees in them. They help so much with the db squats.

Holy frick 18.2 just crushed my soul. I ran out of time. 9+11. I literally started blacking out between rounds, seeing stars and losing vision, and whole body shaking.

I feel unsatisfied though. I feel like I can do better. I haven't gotten more than 5 hours of sleep the last 2 nights and haven't been hydrating enough. I want to redo it Monday after some good sleep and make sure I get a really good lunch and pre workout snack in, and drink plenty of water.

Going into it I knew this would be a tough one for me; burpees and squats both get my heart rate skyrocketing.. but at about around 6 I really hit a wall.

7:49 and 220. Not my best performance but I’m not doing that again.
