Crossfit is a cult for women who played softball in high school but didn’t quite go fullblown lesbian

I wish I could say this wasn't accurate

I fished 23.1 at 180 reps

I had 10 seconds and couldn’t get on the rings

I didn't sign up for the open but did the workout today in open gym.

Finished the cleans at 13:39 and laughed at the rings as if they were a possibility for me.

Was purposefully slow on the row as I had seen too many people get off in the 2:20 range and then just die. Wall balls were what slowed me down. Kept it at 5 rounds of 8 but that let me get right on the cleans and work through them with singles.

23.2 has an A & B part

A:
15 min AMRAP
5 burpee pullups
10 shuttle runs (25' down and back 10x)
..add 5 burpee pullups in each new round

Immediately into..

5 min to achieve a 1RM Thruster
First attempt can be preloaded and others can help load your weights on each weight change

Khrennikov beat Vellner 168-162 in part A and 295-270 in part b.

Each down and back shuttle run is 1 rep.

1rm thruster is such a CrossFit thing to program. I’m gonna hate this one.

Dumb arse workout. You’re looking for injury for the max thruster. You come off being entirely fatigued and have 5 minutes to work yourself up to a heavy thruster?

The one with the front squats and bar over burpees into a max clean was manageable because you had plenty of time to recover then build up.

Most will be lucky to hit close to 90% of their max on the thruster.

My final attempt will be around 205.

111 reps
231 thruster

Didn’t get my goal of 125 on part a but smashed my goal of 205 on part b, so I’ll take it. Didn’t push myself super hard on part a, so I probably could have gotten some more reps there but may have lost some strength for part b. That set of 25 BPUs was demoralizing.

Got bogged down in trying to change my pull on the pull up part. Got 10 lbs more than I was expecting on the thruster. Kind of want to re do it, think I could get another 10ish reps but don’t really want to fight through the suck

146 Reps
220 lb thruster

I think I could’ve gone a bit faster on the runs. I wasn’t really taxed. I got everything I could out of the thruster. It was a 5lb PR.

Yeah 146 is a great score, best at my box was 138

Feel like this week is going to be some climbing dead lift ladder with box jumps and doubles with handstand walks or something after each round

We had 158. I judged it.

GCF has a games athlete dropping in for a while and he managed 152 and 267lbs. He’s M45-49 and has won his age group the last 3 years.

Definitely think it will include dubs and something box related. I’m not sure about barbell though. I know they selected Mal O’Brien and Danielle Brandon for the announcement so I’m thinking they may have done that strategically based on the planned programming. They easily could have switched them with the guys from last week if this week was more strength related. I don’t know - I’m just trying to decipher what the heck it could be lol. We’ll find out soon enough
