Girl from my box is currently tied for 9th in the 14-15 division.
I think she could end up top 5, though. the snatch 1RM and the run/swim don't play into her strengths.

Justin King hit 295 on the snatch 1RM and won that event for M35-39.

Is briggs not doing masters? Why did I think that

So is this Fraser guy the favorite like every year?

She said last year would be her final year, but after successful shoulder surgery and a very good Open and Regional showing, she decided to take the invite for the Open Women vs the W35-39 division.
Correction on King: His final lift was 290. He thought Maddox was stuck at 288 because they didn't announce Maddox's final successful lift so he didn't add weight to 295 because he thought 290 would win it.

Very surprised to see Bridges do so poorly today. I was pulling for the guy and expected a former Navy Seal to dominate a run/swim/run event. Something ain't right with him today.

2014 Fraser was happy to get 2nd, 2015 Fraser was pissec off he got 2nd, 2016 Fraser made sure he didn't get 2nd.
He's a fun guy to watch and easy to pull for. Clearly has put everything he has into being the fittest.
I do like Filkowski though as well, he's been surprising to watch bc usually someone that tall doesn't fare as well in crossfit.

Yeah.. Was thinking the same. I thought he would crush the RSR because he did so well in Murph last year and along with his SEAL background.
Our gym owner was a former SEAL, too, and laughed about the swim distance. A 500M swim can be done by even an average swimmer. He called it the Fittest in the World for land events.

6'2 215#. I'd say optimal athlete for crossfit is 5'10 190#.

Sounds like I could have been a great CrossFit contender!

5-8 to 5-10 and 180-190 are the optimal measurements.
Taller athletes struggle due to a longer ROM on movements. Heavier athletes struggle with the gymnastic movements in longer workouts and lighter athletes struggle with moving weight for heavier WODs.

I'd be a perfect candidate if 20 out of my 190 wasn't beer.
I'm actually built perfect for crossfit. I'm a similar build to Fraser (obviously no where near his fitness level.)
Love watching it, just don't need the pains and eff paying that much.

Yep, my height is keeping me from the games. It's so obvious. If I weren't 6'2 I'd be in the regionals at least.

Looking forward to that obstacle course today.

pretty nasty looking.
i think the 2 minute time cap is a bit limiting, considering these are some fit dudes and a lot of them aren't finishing.
