still dont understand why people care what others are doing. its not a competition unless you are playing sports and getting paid to do so.

For sure, I think most of the people that 'care' are just insecure. It's their excuse for why they don't look better than you.

I've got nothing against it. I'm not on anything now, but I can't say there isn't a strong chance I won't be at some point. If I'm still putting in the work and my results are diminishing simply because I'm getting older and my T levels are dropping, why not take the help that is available? But yeh just TRT, not hopping on anavar or winstrol just for beach season.

And I've got nothing against the young folks using it to compete. If bodybuilding is the sport you picked, use is required to actually compete. That's your decision to make.

The 4th post in this thread is spot on for why steroids are still so 'taboo'. Insecure people use them as the excuse for why they're smaller than anyone, and need to paint them as bad to make that work. Our very own Mingo is the poster child for this insecurity.

yep

and i would so hop on var or winstrol....but i already had cholesterol problems before trt and i have this irrational fear of having a massive heart attack in the front yard while throwing around the ball with my kids.....so im scared to death to. Its such a fear i have reoccurring nightmares about it and i shouldnt as mine is under control and i take all kinds of supps to help but man I just cant help but freak about it.

i wasnt like this until someone i know had a massive one and died while throwing a football with his kid...kind of messed up his kid and i freak out about it. he was way out of shape though and morbidly obese, but still freaks me the frick out.

as far the insecurity....the OT is the worst about it. They worry about how others spend their money because they are always worried about falling behind. The travel ball threads are perfect example...instead of just saying...yea we decided as a family to not participate in that....they get pissed that others do. Mingo perfect example of that and then starts making up bullshite about how most people are having it paid for by the gov and other bullshite.....its all just fricking laughable.

for some reason though, social media of any kind brings this out. insecurity at its finest.

To me the best thing about lifting weights has always been that it isn't a 'team' sport. You aren't relying on anyone else and you are just competing against yourself trying to be the best you can be - whatever that may be. To some it may be size or strength or a combination of both. A sure way to fail or struggle at this is compare yourself to someone else. Just focus on yourself and do the best you can.

I don't even consider someone on trt to be 'juicing'. trt is childs play. Its just replacing something that you have naturally that is deficient.

I catch hell about it from some of the younger baws I lift with. They call me liver king JR. Whenever I hit big numbers on a lift the TRT gets brought up. I make sure to point out that I was lifting more than them before I was on it.

Same here. I’m 47, but my numbers were in the middle range for normal. If/when it drops I’m definitely going to take advantage of testosterone therapy.

A good physician will address the patient and not the numbers. Translation: even though your T #'s are "normal" for your age what are your symptoms? If you have decreased libido, issues sleeping, depression, hair loss, loss of muscle mass/increased bodyfat, brain fog, etc. or a combination of any of the above you might greatly benefit from a TRT regimen even if your #'s are "normal".

Trt is more of a personality than medicine. Everybody on trt is like 5’7 bald and vasectomized listening to Joe Rogan at the gym

Honestly I just asked to test my numbers because it was time for a physical and all of my lifting buddies are on TRT at a much younger age than me. I haven’t had any significant quality of life issues that tell me that I need to get on it yet, but I was curious.

My plan is to get tested yearly as part of my physical, unless I see some significant deterioration in the areas that you mentioned.

This is the truth. Numbers may not be flagged in a lab, but there's definitely a thing about being sub-optimal in how you feel. I'm 47, and my testosterone was in the basement during my last labs. Clearly it's my age and that I'm a woman, but I don't want to be tired and pudgy lol.

Find yourselves a good functional medicine doctor and thank me later. Getting your hormones balanced is quite literally life changing!

Testosterone <3 (4-50 ref. range)
Free T 0.6 (0.0-4.2)

Women obviously need much less than men, but we still need some of it. Starting small with what I'm using, but I'm already 10X more energetic than I was. Life's too short to feel so blah all the time.
