My advice is to stay off stimulants today, like caffeine. Get all of your stuff done, like putting fuel in the vehicle, groceries etc - anything on the list that might weigh on your mind, get it done. Prep all your stuff for the gym, lay out your clothes, pack the bag if you're going to shower there and so forth. Just get it all done. Shut things down after that and let yourself relax, and go to bed as early as you can and don't worry if you don't get as much sleep as you want. Maybe have some 5hr Energy by the bed. Alarm goes off, take the 5hr Energy, roll out, grab everything, morning routine, out the door. Roll the windows down and turn the music up, have a good attitude and get after it - and repeat the next day. Your sleep will get better and your schedule will settle into a groove. Takes one day to get it started though.
Really the tips and tricks are pretty minor. It's a question of whether or not you want to do it. Find your motivation and it will fall into place. Good luck.

Go to bed at 8:30 pm - 9:00 pm.
I do this because I start working at 5:30 am daily, I usually get up by 4:30 am.

I’m up at 4 for the gym. I just get up and do it. Eat a couple of waffles on the way, slam down a monster and start warming up by 4:30. The only “trick” is to go to bed. Stay off your phone at bed time and get some sleep. When morning comes, just get up. You won’t want to, but do it anyway. In simple terms, don’t be a pussy (I don’t mean that as an insult. Just a mindset.)

What time do you go to bed?
Anywhere from 8:30 to 11.
Depends on when our four year old goes down and how much time my wife and I spend together.
Regardless I have memorized this and it might be the best life hack I’ve ever seen:
When to fall asleep to wake up refreshed
One time when going to the airport the next morning to catch a flight, I rolled the dice and pushed through and fell asleep when it said… it was only a few hours before the flight. I woke up feeling amazing.

Going to sleep earlier has been huge for me.
I know you didn't ask for this, but actively changing every negative thought to a positive one and a prayer. Anytime i think "I dont want to" or "I cant" or "maybe ill just skip today" i actively force myself to say " I can; and I will; because laziness is a slap in the face to the blessings I have been given." This small change has really improved every aspect of my life. Waking up earlier, complaining about the day to my wife, dealing with employee relations, patience with my kids, etc. Life is too short and God is too good to waste it with negativity and anger.
My general routine Sun-Thurs:
I put my phone away and turn off all screens by 7 pm.
Breathing meditation, read a book, bible study, guitar, writing, etc. Adding constructive hobbies instead of staring at a screen has changed my life. Screens add nothing to your life.
Go to sleep by 9
Wake up at 5 ( or whatever guarantees you 8 hours)
5-5:30 coffee/ bible/ news
5:30-7:00 workout

Realize that the hardest part of your workout is getting out of the bed. Then just do it. After 3 weeks, it will be much easier.

Minus the news reading, this is almost exactly my routine. Backwards planning makes the process so much easier, especially if I fall back asleep for a few minutes

Going to bed earlier doesn’t help me, I could go to bed at 7 and waking up the next day is still torture

I make it so easy that literally all I have to do when waking up is make it to the kitchen to drink pre-workout and take vitamins. That's it. I don't really count making the protein shake because that can be done when I get home I just do it ahead of time so the air settles in the cup and takes up less room in stomach. Tuesday alarm went off at 4:20 and I turned it off and dozed back off for 25 minutes and then realized what happened and was still able to get up and be at gym slightly after 5AM. Having everything done and ready is basically idiot proofing the process to where anyone can succeed.

Typical work day for me looks like
Up at 3:15am
Lift 3:30-5:15-5:30
Work 6-6
Family time 6:15-8
Bed 8-8:15
Unless wife and I both work on the weekends, kid will go to grandparents and I lift after work.
shite sucks waking up early, but worth it when I punch out and go straight home

I have kids I have to make lunches and breakfast for every day and get ready for school and have to be at work by 7 at the latest so no way morning can really work for me. That’s why I adopted the 8pm slot. I train at home so it usually works. Gives me time for weekday practices or getting the kids their lifts in or training in.
This is me, but it is usually 9PM. The oldest is finally old enough to drive, so that will add some calm to the mornings next school year. But with both parents working and 3 kids going to 2 different schools, there was no way I was getting a morning workout in. Packing lunches and driving either 1 or 2 of them to school would mean getting up an hour earlier, and still having to deal with getting breakfast in them, packing lunches, getting myself ready etc. So I decided to get the youngest to bed then get my workout in. Sometimes I would delay it a bit, but usually by 8:30 the youngest two were off to bed and the oldest was talking to my wife about their days, so off I go to workout.

You simply just do it. I tell myself if I can make my feet hit the floor then the hardest part is done. 4 days a week I wake up at 415. Workout, sauna, shower and I'm at work for 7 (gym is in the same building I work in).
It has become a part of my life now. I feel guilty if I sleep in. It's going to suck at first. But you still have the whole day ahead of you and you've already made that grind.

Do what works for you and you make a good point about being properly hydrated. I consume one liter of water (periodically sipping not gulping) with electrolytes (pink Himalayan salt) within an hour of waking up. That combined with proper sleep hygiene night before has worked wonders for workouts. Too many people are simply not hydrated and it can impact mood, mental ability and workouts.

My work schedule is shite, I never know what time I’ll get off. Some days it’s noon and some days it’s midnight. So for any type consistency, I had to do early AM.
This is me to a tee. I always say I know no one is gonna be throwing a 5 AM on my calendar whereas it seems like I’m always having 5 and 6 o’clock meetings getting added late that f up my whole schedule so I pivoted to mornings knowing I have complete control of them if I wake up early enough.

Plus the early morning workout has been fricking great. It’s a good feeling walking out at 630 knowing you’ve kicked arse for the day.
Also this x1000. I love it even more when it’s winter. Leaving the gym drenched when it’s pitch black and knowing you’ve already kicked the day’s arse is such an epic feeling.

Wake up at 5 am.
Coffee with devotionals and some scrolling until 5:40.
Energy drink 5:40-6 am.
Gym 6-7.
Maybe you can take something from any of that. Works for me.
First week switching to mornings sucked donkey balls because I’m an afternoon guy. Just showed up tired. Intensity sucked.
Second week not as tired, but intensity still sucked.
By week three I was a beast 6-7 am in the gym.
Been at it for 7-9 months now.
Cut that caffeine out until after your workout and that looks good.
Waiting until at least an hour (I do 90 minutes) after waking to have caffeine will help your overall health and specifically your sleep efficiency.

I’d say the one thing that helped me the most in getting started was laying out everything the night before. So go ahead and layout your gym clothes (including shoes, socks, etc.), get the protein powder ready, etc. It’s just a mental thing, but it’s something I’d think about as I was hitting snooze “damn, I’ve gotten everything ready to go and I’m just gonna lay here like a fatty” and then at some point it’ll become a routine and you’ll look forward to it..
Would also add the obvious things like - go to bed earlier (if this is even possible), cut out caffeine at night, etc. in other words, do what you can to have the best night sleep you possibly can so that when you wake up your not as tired.
Last thing - there’s no magic solution, just gotta do it. Gonna suck for a little while, but those early morning workouts (runs for me) are something I’ve learned to love and it’s honestly one of the better parts of my day - just sets that tone.
