Anyone supplement Citrulline?

I take amino energy for pre workout which I like due to lower caffeine content (avid coffee user in the daytime) and the taste. Thinking of adding L-citrulline to the pre workout for better vascular flow and recovery.
Anybody have any experiences with it?

I get it naturally through watermelon which also helps with NO production
And it tastes good. So in that way, you could say I supplement with it. As far as powders and pills..nope.

Daily? How much do you eat?

I feel like you have to eat A LOT of watermelon to get to the daily recommended daily dose which is like 3g-6g.
Watermelon vs L-Citrulline supplementation
Basically you would eat 1.5 kg of watermelon everyday to get the minimum effective dose of 3g citrulline. Or 5 kg of watermelon to get the maximum efficacious dose of 10 g of L-citrulline.

Definitely not hurting anything throwing a few pieces down everyday.

i take it almost daily at 5 gram dose powder form. it does help with vascularity and blood flow and i mostly take it as a pre-workout.
no real side effects and one of the few supplements id rank as actually useful.

I took it for pre-workout but I didn’t notice much difference.

I just checked the back of my pre-workout and I get 6g per scoop. Guess that's enough?

8-9g pre-workout for better blood flow and pumps.
Regarding pumps: I do notice it more if I take a week off. I was sick for a week after Christmas and didn't take any pre for a week. The first day back took 9g and felt like the fricking Hulk after the workout. But haven't been able to replicate that feeling since then. Perhaps I'm getting the same pump, but my body acclimates to the feeling. Should probably get out a measuring tape after my next week off and compare.

Total War the sour gummies one

Is it only effective if taken immediately before a workout or is it something that's fine to supplement anytime of the day like creatine?

Depends, is it citrulline or citrulline malate,

I take it for preworkout. I love it. My veins pop like crazy when lifting until failure on arm day.

so you're probably only getting 3-4 grams of actual citrulline per scoop. that would be the bare minimum effective dose. that checks out more in line with most pre-made workout mixes.
you'd probably want twice that dose, but two scoops of total war might be way more caffeine than you want (i dont know how much caffeine it has, but that's usually the one supp they dont skimp on).
