I doubt I can as well - been battling major back issues. Damn herniated disc and what feels like a potential stress fracture too.

But we’ll see. I may give it a go and just start light.

yea on top of the time issue, i am battling pain in my right knee the last month. started right after i hurt it on vacation.

was going down one of those snow tube things in Pigeon Forge and it started spinning me and my foot hit the side as i was going down and it jerked my knee pretty good.

has enough after last weeks squat session and am rehabbing it now. prolly take 6 weeks of full rehab using KOT approach plus some other things to get it back to where i have no pain on full ATG squats. so doubt im going to be doing this.

Welcome to My world. Had an L5/s1 for 20 years. Finally just stopped loading my spine with any significant weight and I don't suffer every day. Sucks not to put heavy weigh on my back but I'm damn near 50 now and want to be able to walk. Just do legs a different way now. Goblet squats, box squats, leg extensions with 5 second negatives, dumbell deads. It is what is but I want to avoid surgery at all cost.

man you should really look into the squat max md for belt squats. That and a reverse hyper will prolly help you tremendously. The reverse hyper is individual so i cant say for certain but i can so with almost 100% certainty that the squat max will help you a ton.

I might give squatober a try, first time

What’s a good all around program for September? Silverback?

i would opt for one of the squatober prep ones or db strength but silverback is a good overall program. lower in volume but higher intensity

i love strongville but i would not do that one before squatober

I'll Look up the squat max MD. Can't do reverse hypers. Down for days after doing them with even light weight.

Pit Shark and Rogue Rhino are other good options but Squat Max MD is the best in class.

have you tried the reverse hypers with zero weight and only focusing on the extension? letting it go past normal to stretch you out?

many times people come up way too far on the hypers and actually compress the back. IMO the swing forward is the magic in the hyper.

I may try to do it again. Been hitting the legs pretty hard the last few months now that I'm back in a traditional gym. I'll just pause my current program for a month.

Never maxed but have been running PPSA programs for 6 months or so. Have been adjusting my 1rep max as needed.

The adjustments are happening less frequently now so I’m getting pretty close to actual 1rm I think

I think I’m going to start the prep workout tomorrow

Should be good to go then. Last year's Squatober even had some "tests" that would force adjustments if your max was set too high or too low.

Last year I picked 330. I hadn't maxed since high school but I had repped 325 a couple of times I rounded up.

There were days where we did sets of two in an AMRAP style and then got to adjust maxes based on those results.

Deadcemebr had the best way to set your training max IMO> He said to start at weight you would struggle with and get sets of 3. When you can't get a set of 3 reps then that is yout TM.

I'm just dropping my training max this year since I haven't been running ppsa programs like I was last year.

I think I’m going to push myself and run it at 95% instead of 92% like last year.

I’m going to do the same. I did 90% last year.
