I'm going to have to take this approach, too. My boss just scheduled an out of state work trip for me right in the middle of the month. Should only really frick up 1 day for me.

some days are goint to requrie a 5am lift, some at night...bottomline is i just have to get the shite done, thats my discpline for the month.

no fricking excuses, no weasling my way out due to kids stuff and no missing kids stuff for lifting either. plain and simple, make the sacrifices for a month and get the shite done.

i tested all my maxes this month and feel damn good about where i am on everything but chins. Frankly im fricking fat for me. Im still around 20% and i need to take this month to hit the diet and get the shite in the same way i will be doing for the workout.

Day 1
quote:

STRENGTH TRAINING Day #1 for Saturday Oct 1st. Should be about 60-65 Minutes to complete. With these %’s, I do not see a need for a belt. Learn to brace your core. Remember, chase great form over trying to achieve a certain number. We are all adults here and everyone knows what a good technical squat should look like. Have Some Fun.

My only real concern is that I don't know all of my training maxes because I don't know what all exercises will be included. I know bench, DL, OHP, and squat. I don't know variants like front squat, sumo DL, snatch DL, etc...

The article he posted said to just know your bench deadlift and squat max. Also he suggested using a 95% training max for bench and deadlift and a 90% training max for squat

Damn that's one legit workout

I'm pumped to do this. I just don't know my other maxes. I have no idea what my bench max is since I hurt my shoulder years ago. Flat Bench always hurts.

I may have to find a sub for the close grip push ups. Been having wrist pain lately. Maybe DB skullcrushers

Bench superset with farmers walk is going to make me feel like an a-hole at the gym.

he will give you a % to use if he programs those. Its % of your main lift. like snatch grip..he may program at 50% of DL max etc

yea everyone should adjust based on them. personally i like wendlers approach to use lower TM but for these 30 days I am going to do exactly what AA says.

then sub it for something that doesnt hurt or limit the range of motion.

if it doesnt hurt if you are a little wider than do that. if it does some skull crushers or tricep pushdowns work too.

haha thats why i dont do these types of things in a commercial gym

remember AA comes from the S&C world and has a garage gym he trains in. he dont do big commercial gyms lol.

you can do marches in place as a sub if you need to.

BTW my strategy on the pullups this month...i have been doing them weighted and heavy for a while in the ppsa programs and strongville and silverback really had those programmed alot so I am going no weight and going super strict and slow all the way to the chest.

I don’t get his hate for the belt. I prefer to use one for anything above a warm up…

I front squat and deadlift without one though.

I'll knock it out at 6am tomorrow morning before going play disc golf and soccer.

Hopefully hit a 390-400lb squat after this month!!

many young guys use it as a crutch instead of building the core. i will have to use it if i want to be able to get through the month.
