Week 1 (4/1-4/7)

100
150
200
200
150
200
250

Total: 1250

Starting from basically zero, no gym or fitness routine, trying to ease my way into it. Other than the last 150 the rest were all in sets of 10.

This week I will do sets of 15 and try to get up to the 300-400 daily range.

My wrist was killing me mid week due to a ganglion cyst, but it must have worked itself out, as soon as I posted here about it the pain went away.

Congrats to all you meatheads cranking out 300+ daily, and to you gorillas knocking out the pullups, that is some badass shite.

Welp.

My crawfish eating and drinking on Saturday killed my neck the last two days so I didn't do jack shite.

However, I'm already at 250 push ups for the day with a goal of 500 to help catch back up.

ETA: Had a little extra juice in the tank so I knocked out 550.

I've noticed week 2 is much easier so far. I took Sunday off, but on Monday I felt so much stronger and could do higher reps per set while keeping form. I'm going to adjust my daily totals to 400+ to keep Sundays off. Last Friday and Saturday I was very sore, but powered through it pretty easily. I feel good enough now to start incorporating back and bicep routines along with leg days I'm currently doing.

Also, the fiancee has noticed more definition in my shoulders and pecs

365 on day 9 for a total of 3135.

What is everyone'd routine? Reps per set? Do you cluster your sets... Like 3-5 sets at the different times in the day?

I do about 5 sets of 30 before work over the course of~45 minutes with coffee and news. I then do 5-8 sets of 30 at night, but spread out over a longer time, maybe 2 hours.

I typically do mine at work starting around 8:30 or so. I do at least 40 reps per set and I do 10 sets. I'm usually done before 9:30. I did 550 this morning.

I also go lift during lunch (today was chest and back). The push-ups don't really affect my workout either

I also ran 3 miles when I got off work and did 60 pull-ups before supper.

I'm fricking tired.

Well I stuck it out and today was my last day. I ended up with a couple hundred over 10k. I can’t say that every day was perfect, but I grinded it out and made up the push ups when I needed to. My biggest thing this time around was making sure I was always maintaining correct form.

I’ll post some before and afters sometime tomorrow if anyone is interested. I definitely have been getting some compliments from people saying how much better I look in the chest/shoulders area. I feel like I have lost a little fat, although eating better would have helped more. I do feel like the fat on my chest and stomach has definitely gotten smaller. When I’m pinching it, I can feel a major difference in how much is behind my skin.

I started the challenge at 193 and today I weighed in at 186. The lightest I’ve weighed during the challenge was 184.

To those pushing through, keep grinding!!! I’m happy that I initially posted it here and got so many people to join in. Continue to push, it gets easier.

Congrats on completing the challenge!

And thanks for starting this thread, I attempted it back in 2015 when a group here was doing it and got derailed around 4k because of a vacation. Always wanted to try it again someday.

Thanks to this thread someday was April 1st.

I am still slowly increasing my daily total, got in 250 Monday, 300 Tuesday, and 300 Wednesday. At the 200 mark Wednesday was the first time I have felt any soreness/muscle exhaustion, so I guess that it is a good sign.

In honor of the OT the next 2 days are 350.

I got in 480 this morning.

It's too late to add this in for this month's challenge, but a co-worker showed me this push-up board on Amazon yesterday:

Amazon

Does anyone have experience using something like this? I think it would be nice to have if I ever decide to do this again.

So I’m out. I’ll try again in June or something.

Taking care of newborn, wife (c-section) and 5 year old just zapped me too much and I’m too far behind now to realistically reach 10k.

I got a total of 2,050 done the first 10 days though.

its crazy how bad my endurance is... i can knock out 50 with relative ease my first set and then my arms start tiring out by 15 reps when i get to like my 4th set.

and thats with 2-4 minutes rest between each set

I’m doing the slow mwthod. Lock arms out take a second and hit nose and chest to the ground. I can only get 25 before my form goes to shite. So it’s 10-25 per set for me. Plus I’m old and seem to injure myself at the worst times.

Should cross 5k tomorrow. Doing lots of sets obviously.
