I’m at the gym what’s the time in right now
Posted on 8/1/18 at 6:41 pm to StraightCashHomey21
They’re a little over halfway at about 1:15 min in.

Looks like someone is hurt

Fraser looks in bad shape

Marathon row is absurd to put in this. Also super boring to watch.

Once again, Bill Grundler proves he’s a douchebag.
If he always rejects his CFG invite to commentate, then why even do the online qualifier?
Two years ago, he fricked up an event in the Games, knew he couldn’t win, so he withdrew. Last year, he backed out at the last minute and the 21st ranked guy in the Masters online qualifier couldn’t replace him, and he did it again this year.
You can withdraw early and the next guy goes. The guy at the West Regionals did it last year right after he finished 5th.

Are you serious? I didn’t know he did that. What a d bag.

Yeah.
Last year, he posted a week out that he was withdrawing to concentrate on overall commentating.
The worst was in 2016. Dude was actually competing and messed up a 4 mins to hit a max squat clean event. Loaded up 275 and easily hit it, but didn’t pause at the top at all and just unracked it when he stood up in one motion. The judge no-repped him.
Instead of just resetting and hitting it again to get a weight in the books, he jumped to 315 but started failing rep after rep, even when he started stripping weight off, he kept failing and ended up with a 0 and was last in the event. He withdrew at that point since he knew he couldn’t win.

I don’t like rest day.........mostly because it gives me nothing to watch today.
The individuals need a rest day after that row though. Seems odd that the teams are getting a rest today........but hasn’t the games typically started on Thursday for individual and team? I think it was the age groups that started Wednesday in prior years.

Yeah. Normally the older and younger athletes started earlier and finished up before the weekend when it was in Carson. It changed when it moved to Madison.
I talked with Sue Velott last week (Master Women 55-59 Top qualifer) and she hates the new arrangement.

Was the row marathon put in just to make it interesting?
Like is Fraser known to be weak on rowing?

If it was they did a shitty job. He finished 11th and is still the overall leader.

That was just Castro being a dick.
Fraser has no weakness. He will continue to win for the next few years as long as he stays healthy.
Normally, a shorter athlete has a disadvantage on the rower, but Fraser seems to destroy all of those typical issues holding other people back.

DC and CF want Fraser to win- wouldn’t surprise me if he has known about the events for months.

Fraser and Vellner are lucky to still be competing after falling on the obstacle course.

Fraser has some competition this year with Hogberg right on his arse.
If Hogberg didn’t drop his dummy in the O-course in the final 20 secs, he beats Fraser and is in 1st.
We will see if there are any ill effects from those falls for Fraser and Vellner. Adrenaline can mask some issues for a short time. It’s the recovery time after where you start feeling any potential problems.

In a class all week so couldn’t watch the O course
Fraser was limping after the row and looked hurt
No surprise he fell down

He literally fell from the top of the 15’ cargo net and nearly had his foot caught in it.
