I don’t take anything crazy. Never went with any questionable brands. I normally have stuck with Jack3d, C4, and now Pre-Jym. I’ve never had an issue. No pain or heart problems because I really don’t try to over-do it.

Maybe it’s just because I’m getting older but I just can’t help but think that it can’t possibly be good for me. This can’t be good for my heart. Anybody got any insight on this subject?

I'm sure it's fine. It's probably just around 250mg of caffeine and some other stuff.

If you ain't living, you dying.

The base caffeine, I wouldn't worry too much. Caffeine is pretty well studied and doesn't exert bad effects.

The random other ingredients, well, not so much is known about those. If you're looking to make a change, going straight caffeine is one of the safer stimulants around.

Thinking of starting to make my own off of amazon using caffeIn pills, bcaas, L-argenine, beta-alanine, and maybe mix some creatine in.

Caffeine is not bad for you, but can cause adrenal fatigue. Nothing in a preworkout should be bad for you, infact the opposite including caffeine.

But is using a preworkout packed with stims has become a clutch, you have a problem

I'd take a slight issue with this in that a lot of PWO's have ingredients that there just isn't much legit research on.

I agree most aren't likely to create negative effects, but for a lot, there just isn't a ton of reliable info to make a decision.

For TDecline, that's essentially what I do. I buy the stuff I want in bulk and use as I want to. A lot of PWO's are off in dosing, so the bulk route allows you to avoid underdosing.

Right now, for lifting, I use creatine, caffeine, arginine and citrulline.

If you drink coffee, you take a pre-workout. But I hear you.

Amino Energy by ON is a good choice. I also find that a strong cup of coffee, 2 scoops of BCAAs, cardarine and metformin gets me going really good. Follow up with Karbolyn and juiced greens to fill muscle AND LIVER glycogen with 75 G of protein.

I’ve been taking pwo’s for 3 years straight now without a break and I’m healthy as can be. I don’t go crazy on high stim pwo’s but I’ve been using yeah buddy by Ronnie Coleman. Even if the other ingredients in pwo’s aren’t good for you, they don’t even put enough in them for it to be able to really benefit or hurt you

Another good stim free pre is Nutrex Outlift Stim Free, has everything appropriately dosed. One of the few workout supplements I buy.

Definitely not worse than smoking cancer sticks, crack, or being an alchey. Everyone has to die of something. If you die from pre-workout in the long run, at least you'll die jacked and feeling good.

Only time I ever really took pre workout was on deployment bc the days are so long

Couldn’t stop cold turkey tho, had to slowly wind off of it when I got back

I've been taking them about once/week for about five years. No negative symptoms yet and I typically do not drink any alcohol or take Aleve until at least 24-48 hrs after.

For example, I took a pwo on Saturday morning and later that night thought about having a couple of beers with dinner but decided to play it safe and not have any.

eta- i am not putting down on anyone that does. I dont care what anyone takes, i take whey. I was just talking about myself with preworkout. Just never felt the need. I turn my music up, and get to work.

It’s become almost a mental thing for me, I take it just to get focused after draining my mind at work
