Is that the one with trees tight on both sides to the point where you have to hit it low and cut it hard? Left is also protect by a creak through the trees? And right is corn on the other side? And then the green is 30 by 30 sloped hard to the front?
That be the one

I don't mind the trouble. I just like some variety. Give me something different.

Think it was 7 at Sherwood. But that was the worst designed hole of all time. Maybe in the country.

#2 at Spring Bayou in Marksville

All 18 at Cypress Bend
I can see the hate for 15 at Oakwing. It really plays different for the long hitter. That ditch is the difference between 9i/W and at best 5i.

It’s not the tee shot ... it’s the narrow green that will not hold a 60 yard lob wedge. The elevated green is like concrete and the ball bounces OB into the trees behind the green.
If you fly it over onto the downslope maybe. Never thought of that green as being that firm. Its a small green because it's the only defense the hole has.
Over the green is a hazard, not OB for what it's worth.

You hate the fairway bunkers or the fact you’re screwed if you lose it way right?

Isn’t there 2 of them like that?
I did think 16,17, and 18 were cool though

I absolutely love That par 5. Elevated tee box, huge hills on the right that are kind of fun to hit off off. OB on the left tends to funnel back down. You hate the fairway bunkers or the fact you’re screwed if you lose it way right?
12 is a par 4 at CCL...you are thinking about 11

Neither of these courses exist anymore, but #6 at Alexandria Country Club and half the back 9 at Rapides

Was a member at both AGCC and Rapides. Miss those courses.

These are 3 good picks for the lafayette area. All dumb holes with 90 degree turns. Each one seems like it was built to fit in the available space and no thought was given on how to make a good golf hole

I hated that hole. Couldn't effectively hit driver because it would likely nail the side of the embankment and either plug in the wall or be at the very bottom. So you hit iron from the tee, and your second shot has about 100ft elevation climb to the green, which is very hard to get a ball to stop when hitting to a green that high, so you you just roll off the back most likely. Now I loved #7 for the opposite reason, hitting down to a par 3 way below you in elevation.

^^^This, 15 at Vieux you basically have to hit a perfect 2nd shot to go after it in 2. Which means you may have to carry it over the tee box at 14 or close to it. If you fly it over that you have to stop it before the downslope on the back where there is water. It's an aggravating hole which doesn't reward a good drive and if your 2nd shot isn't exactly perfect then you struggle to find your ball and/or make par
It's like playing the back tees at Atchafalaya no. 6
If you hit a perfect t shot there's hardly a window at all for a clean 2nd to the green

quote:This is what made it great, but the last part is just wrong. Severely slopped back to front. I never once saw a ball roll off the back. Hell, I was always backing my approach too damn much on that green.
