Who here has shot in the 60s?
Could be a tournament, with friends or whatever.

What was it like?

Where you looking ahead thinking “holy shit”?

I’m assuming if you get it to the 60s you aren’t getting nervous because you are already beyond elite.

Did you have full command of almost everything?

Describe the feeling.

Felt like if could of been lower? (Everyone probably feels this way no matter what your shoot)

Might be nobody here

re: Who here has shot in the 60s?
I've done it several times. My lowest round ever was back in May this year...67 with 7 birdies and 2 bogeys. Then 2 days later I had 9 birdies, but had to settle for 70 because I made an 8 on a par 4 on the back.

My best round ever was a 68 at the bluffs several years ago. I remember just making everything I looked at that day and standing over the ball knowing I was going to hit the green, it was just a matter of how close I could hit it. That day was when I understood what "being in the zone" meant.

re: Who here has shot in the 60s?
Once for me.

I shot a 68 at Longwood GC here in Houston. I made 2 eagle chips in's and 3 birdies.

It was a Caddyshack day for me thanks to a Adam's fairway wood that I use to blister.

I've shot even multiple times after that.

Three years ago I got a knee replacement and my swing changed.

I got the shanks so bad, I quit playing for a year. Now I am a low 80s player and thats ok because I don't shank any more and I play pain free.

I’ve shot a couple 69s at old UC and Copper, and a couple 70s at New UC and Pelican - equals 10 under 4 day total score (in my life) - imagine doing that every week - that’s how good PGA players are

I had my first shot at the 60s a couple of months ago (Kingwood island course)

Was 2 under going into 18 - hit the fairway and went for the green.... smashed the tree on the island green and dropped one and two putted for a 71.

Was an awesome round none the less

I've shot under 65 multiple times.

It was a Par 54 par 3 course.

But still, multiple times.

re: Who here has shot in the 60s?
I've shot 67 twice and 68/69 probably a dozen times. The putting in all of those rounds was the difference.

I shot 69 at Money Hill in a company event with a bunch of agents. I was invited late and I came in and won their 2 day event. They were all pretty pissed and I didn't get invited back the following year.

The worst part of my game is putting so any time I have 28/29 putts I'm breaking par with a chance in the 60's

re: Who here has shot in the 60s?
Career low is 62.

I didn't look ahead; I tried to stay focused on the next shot, putt, etc. I was pretty calm after shooting 29 on the front side; I felt like I was going to hit every approach shot close and the hole looked like a basketball hoop.

I hit all 14 fairways and 16 of 18 greens; it was as pure a ball striking round as I've ever had. Honestly don't feel I left any shots out there; maybe the lone bogey I made could have been a par.

Multiple times in college tournaments. Lowest ever tournament round was 65 at Bart Granger high school event outside Dallas.

I've had two rounds in the 50s; one at Breckenridge in SATX pre-renovation & one from the front tees playing with a LPGA player at Briggs Ranch.

I shot 72 with 14/14 FIR and 18/18 GIR in a college round, casual 36 putts.

Nothing different tee to green but the size of the cup was a basketball hoop. As a few could attest, if anyone gets the putter rolling its pretty easy to throw down a low number.

re: Who here has shot in the 60s?
69 from the tips at Links on the Bayou first time I played it. Had only been playing a few years and previous low score was a 76. Didn’t realize I had a chance to break 70 until the tee shot at 18. If any of you have played that course from the tips you know how tough of a shot that can be...210ish all over water, usually with a wind of some sort. Hit it to 30 feet and two putted for a bogey free 69.

69 from the tips at Tamahka Trails twice.
69 from the one ups at Kelly Plantation.

Quit playing golf for almost 10 years and have only broken 80 a handful of times since picking up the clubs again about 5 years ago.

re: Who here has shot in the 60s?
Every time I tee it up I get nervous. Tiger once said if you don’t get nervous quit playing.

Shot 60. 63. Tons of 65s. Only three times in tournaments.

The 60 was Howell Park. Was -10 on last hole. Easy par 3 with a wedge in hand. Hit it to 8 ft and left it about a foot short. Was a tad nervous.

I’m there right now. Have had them pop up from time-to-time over the years, but showed up last October and haven’t been able to shake it. I can screw up a great drive in a heartbeat....have zero confidence in my iron play right now. Did the time off rid you of it or did the light bulb come on. I’m open to suggestions.

re: Who here has shot in the 60s?
Shot 67 (-3) at Pelican Point Lakes (2 par 35 9s) in late May. Definitely a career round for me. 7 birdies and 4 bogeys. One of the birdies was a chip in, and 2 were short ones. The other 4 were medium to long putts.

Had a putt for 69 on Mardi Gras Day at #18 at Santa Maria back in February. Didn't make it, but was damn happy with my lowest round of 70 at that point.

Been playing golf for 25 years, and my 2 lowest rounds have come within the last 5 months.
