The "state of the art clubhouse" they built has a grand total of less than 20 lockers in the locker room. There needs to be some pretty serious infrastructure added to city park before a PGA Tour event can be played there.

I know. I'm just responding to the range issue...which is more common than people think. Tour events at Harding Park use another range comprised of holes from the other 9, for example.

Plenty of room between #1 and the current clubhouse to build a more suitable locker room, media center, etc.

The primo course to move to would be Atchafalaya.

Sponsor parking could be behind the civic center
Lexus pro parking could be at the club house
Regular parking could be behind Kentwood Water

Balconies at the 9/18 green, Behind 13th green, In the middle of the 6th and 8th green and 7th and 9th tee box, Behind the 4th green and in the first dogleg on 6.

This course from the tips is a bigger challenge than TPC.
The par 3's are 2 @ 250yards, 7 @ 244yards, 11 at 220yards and 15 @ 230yards.

#7

#1 green with the 250yard par3 #2 in the background

4 is 460yard par4 to basically an island green
18 is 470yard par 4 to basically another island green.

#4

#9

#17

16 is a 600yard par 5 with water down the entire left side of your tee shot to a 90* dogleg left and a fairway that gets narrower the closer you get to a green that is guarded by sand.

#3 approach

Clubhouse

In the middle of absolutely nowhere. Atchafalaya is a good course but logistically would never work.

Do you need a map because it is literally minutes away from downtown Morgan City.

Well aware of where it is, played the course a few times. I could just see the tour pros hanging out at the bowling alley in MC, not much else there.

You don't have to be a pro to know what an island is

I’m enjoying this mightily. I love Atchafalaya and totally agree it would be a better course for the Zurich.... were it not in Patterson. Haha. great stuff!

well in all fairness, Lafayette isn't that far away. Not saying any pro would like to drive an hour to play his round, but Atchafalaya would be a nice alternative.

Where do the pros stay now for the Zurich, drive-time-wise?

Wherever they like. Talked to a guy that was picking them up and he said they were all over the city. None on the westbank tho.

well hell, let them stay in Broussard or Laffy and give Atchafalaya a shot!!

As much as I like La Tour, I don't think they can host tZurich.

Straight off a golf channel article:

A re-grassing at TPC Louisiana will only help so much. The tournament desperately needs to be relocated, to City Park. Make. It. Happen.
