The course is fixing to shut down until November. Completely redoing fairways and greens...

TPC is a terrible golf course. It’s so weird.

Pete totally mailed it in on this one.

I’ve never played it. But does not look very fun on TV.

Are they doing redesign or just grassing?

A few holes will be tweaked, re grassing all short grass.

They must have shut down the sprinkler system. The announcers said some of the players are bitching that the greens are almost unplayable. Looks that way on TV.

I actually like most of the layout, some of the pot bunkers in the fairways suck.

LaTour is in the middle of nowhere. Traffic would be nightmare and no place for players to stay and nothing for them to do offcourse.

This is the most overused cliche on this board. It most certainly is not.

The renovations are going to make this a great course, especially if they’re giving the greens good attention.

Anyone remember when it was at Lakewood?

I know tour golf and the style of courses has changed but I was wondering how it was back then. Has Lakewood gone through renovations and changed layout much.

There are some big names that won there.

Lakewood was a totally different course back then. Old styled tree lined course, nothing like it is today.

They will also never play a tournament where you have the choice between AstroTurf or a sticker patch to hit range balls off of

I’m sure they can use the North course for a nice range for the pros.

Adding a grass range tee or just converting a few holes on the north course is super easy.

The "state of the art clubhouse" they built has a grand total of less than 20 lockers in the locker room. There needs to be some pretty serious infrastructure added to city park before a PGA Tour event can be played there.

They were playing on poa trivialis overseed since the course is getting ripped up tomorrow. The temperature was close to 85 today, so I'm assuming some of that overseed was starting to die off which accounted for the speed and looks of the greens.
