Meh. No iconic holes but a firm test. (I guess). Thoughts?

It's super boring. 3 and 4 are ok, they're the only holes that use the canyon or ocean. Rees Jones sucks.

14 of the same par 4s, 2 ok par 3s, and that stupid pond on 18

I actually just texted a similar sentiment to a few buddies about 30 minites ago. It's a nice muni but kind of boring as a US Open stop. It's basically Houston memorial with a beach in the general vicinity.

The cliff views that they hammer look amazing. But that’s only a few holes.

The rest of course looks like it’s in the middle of one of those beehive cubicle office parks.

3 is as beautiful of a golf hole as any in the country.

Or replace the ocean with Bayou St. John and you have Bayou Oaks South Course. Even have the same architect. Alot of resemblance in both of those boring designs.

IDK if I would go that far, but it’s a boring lay out for a US open.

Where does someone make a move?
What hole is a risk/reward?

Does anyone know if any of these guys are from San Diego? The commentators haven’t said anything

I’ve been there in person for PGA events and it’s much better than it appears on TV.

Every course has some boring holes. Even many of Pebble’s holes are boring and not much to write home about. It’s not the best ever, but a good track. Great location.

Dude, Torrey has like 15 boring holes. It’s one long, straight monotonous par four after another..
