Thoughts on not using a glove?

Been playing for a month gloveless and haven’t hit the ball straighter or farther in my life. I know it’s not for everybody but the feel works for me and I haven’t developed any blisters or had any discomfort. Are golf gloves just something we wear because everybody does? For reference, I play two or three times a week and go to the range often.

I wouldn’t be able to grip my club confidently without one right now due to sweat

I was at the range a few weeks ago and a guy flung a club about 30 yards out into the range and across about 6 bays. That's why I wear a glove. Plus I get blisters if I hit tons of balls in a row without one. Probably wouldn't have blister issue playing a round, but the grip issue would be there.

If all of this is true, keep doing you brother. I'll get blisters faster than an ugly teenager on spring break if I don't wear a glove.

For full swing shots I feel like I gotta have a glove. Softer wedge shots and putting I take my glove off. Really just

I like to not wear a glove when it’s not super hot and sweaty out. Never really wear one for shots inside 100 yards.

I prefer a towel and no glove. If it’s just crazy hot/humid and I must use one I prefer a rain glove. They’re thinner and are made to be used when wet.

I used to hate wearing a glove. My hands are pretty callous so blisters were never a problem. But for some reason as I've gotten into my upper 30s, summer heat brings out the sweat more and the club starts slipping so I wear one out of grip necessity.

Sunday I did have my club slip out of my right hand on the range but I had the glove on my left hand so fortunately I didn't toss the club.

I go through about 4 to 5 gloves a round during the summer. I sweat so much I can't grip the club; it wants to slip out of my hands. I do take it off after every shot so as not to sweat too much in them. I don't use them on close wedge shots or putting. In the Fall, Winter, and Spring I don't use a glove. I get no blisters, and I feel as though I can better tell where the club face is, don't know why, it's just a feeling.

I've been using the same grip master "Roo" grips for a few years. I go gloveless pretty often. They're expensive but 100% worth it if you like the tackiness.

When using my driver or woods to tee off, I'll wear my glove. Irons, wedges, and putter the glove goes away. My irons came with new grips and I feel comfortable swinging without having to wear a glove. Been doing this for years at this point.

I basically only wear a glove when it’s cold. Never really used them consistently. I just don’t like taking it on and off especially when it’s hot.

I play often but only 2-3 holes at a time. Played 18 on Father’s Day and was a little tender after but not bad. You develop a callous like anything else

I use a product called Chalkless Grip Enhancer, you can buy it on Amazon Prime, it was originally designed for weightlifters. Works incredible.

I find that my pinky fingernail of my bottom hand will wear a dang hole in my top hand middle finger knuckle if I don’t wear a glove.

I also find that gloves don’t last long at all. A hole develops in my hypothenar (I looked up what that pad on the palm is called).
Does that happen to anyone else?

I went about a decade without wearing a glove, just a heavy corded grip. Loved it and never blistered and didn't sweat too much even in the LA heat.

But the past year or so I had to go back to using a glove because my hands have started to sweat more.

Played in a tournament not long ago and lost my glove with a few holes to go and the first drive I took without a glove on I kept the club in my hand by the tip of my fingers. It was close to being 50 yards down the fairway.

Still go no gloves on my wedges and chipping around the green. Just get more feel out of it.

Grew up playing high school tournaments in Portland Oregon in nothing but wet and drizzle and have never used a glove. Just never liked the feel at all.

The only time I can think of having slippage issues is right after putting on sunscreen.

I’ve never worn one and I assume people don’t even notice.
