Have any of you used/hit these ?
My 19 yr old (left handed) has recently developed a golf obsession and I'm considering buying him a set of these for Christmas.
They are only $575.00 for a full set of irons.

I bought some last year. Solid irons, very soft feel, a little more distance, I recommend. I prefer a forged club, it was a good fit for me.

January of 2025 my stepson who is 19 and also left-handed decided he wanted to learn how to play golf. He was a junior in highschool. I bought him a used set of Nike slingshots I found on marketplace for 75 dollars. I told him if he was serious I would buy him a new set if he made the golf team at his highschool his senior year. Him and I worked all summer and he became a quality golfer in the matter of 6 months. He was a wide receiver and pitcher for his high school. He made the team in the fall of 25 and qualified for state and was the 3rd best for season on his high school team. When he made the team I bought him a set of takomo 201. He loves them. Just recently I have been on the site looking to replace my titleist t100s with the new takomos.
2 weeks ago he signed a letter of intent with a full ride to to the local community college to play golf.

I have the 201T MKII set. It is a good solid set of clubs for the money.

Takomo and Sub70 are both legit!

They are solid clubs, and probably the best choice for someone relatively new to the game, and imo hands down the best choice for someone looking to upgrade there first set, especially when considering cost.

I decided to try graphite senior shafts a few years ago.
I chose Sub 70 699 pro.
They’ve been good for me.
Over my life I’ve played McGregor, Titleist, Adams, Callaway, Taylor Made, and PXG irons.
Sub 70 is as good for me as any of them.
My 52 week low index is 8.4. Currently index 10.
So for my level, it seems it’s the Indian, not the arrow.
Of course, I will go get fit again soon bc IT could be that I have not quite found the perfect irons for me.

I've been skeptical because all i ever saw was paid youtube folks talking about how great they were. But, testing by mygolfspy was really good this year. And, the dudes here that play them seem to like them a good bit and they likely aren't paid shills. Just because there aren't any pros playing them doesn't make them trash. Hell, I love pretty much everything Wilson has produced in the past few years and they have essentially zero pro staff.

I don’t have a full set but I did buy their Utility 2 iron and love it. About $200 cheaper than a brand new Taylormade/titelist and it is close enough in performance. The grip is absolute shite though, and it also wasn’t installed very well. I planned on changing the grip anyway but I couldn’t believe how poorly/cheap it was installed.
If they had more customized bounce options for wedges I would buy a set of these.

My opinion is that at that price range, you can get a very solid set of slightly used irons that are more proven and higher quality. I bought a 2 year old set of Srixon Zx 5s for around 600 and they are sweet. I'd bet for 6 or 700 you can get the Zxi 4 or 5s. While there are good reviews out there for the Takomos, there are lots of bad reviews. I am not a Takomo hater, I think it is good for golf to have a higher quality cheaper option for a new set of clubs. However, you never or rarely see a golfer who spends alot of time on the course using them.
Edit: as another commenter noted, I have heard that the stock grips are horrible so factor in another $100 for new grips and the difference between these and high quality used irons gets even smaller

I hate the fact that you cant hit with them before purchasing. Seems to me they would sell alot more if they allowed places to have them so you can test them.
