Here you are posting a second time in a thread you can’t even stand reading

I think you misunderstand why people post in your threads. It's like how people used to walk by and throw tomatoes at the people in the stocks at the town square.

You do realize you’re him, right? Only you’re for LIV.

That’s literally an Australian newspaper just requoting the NY post story from a few days ago and converting $250m US dollars into $430 Australian dollars.

If that doesn’t sum up the LIV boy fandom I don’t know what does.

Good news: vibes are high

Bad news: no actual real investors or plan exists

Sounds like a pretty shitty investment

Is this the “I told you so” thread?

Because I’m ready to watch a few posters have their crow.

Anyone with half a brain knew this was going to happen. You can’t spend hundreds of millions on players and have a legitimate business model.

Scott says they have a “lead investor” but the players will be majority owners of LIV 2.0

So, basically, the players will have to pay to keep the league alive if they choose.

Well also, it’s a term sheet that has been agreed upon. However, he would give no details on the terms

As. Much as I make fun of LIv and O’Neil, I’m been surprised how bad that interview/update was

I love that I’ve seen people rebrand it as LIV 2.0 when it’s more like LIV 0.5

I would still be very surprised if it goes on next year at all

If the best you can do 1 month out is tell people you have a terms sheet with an anonymous investor with zero details of the terms that ain’t great

Wouldn’t be surprised if the term sheet is contingent upon LIV’s current players agreeing to remain on the tour, notably Rahm and Hatton. Reading between the lines this plan hinges on these players they owe hundreds of millions of dollars to agreeing to forgo those payments in exchange for equity in the league. Do they want to do that or do they want to use the opportunity to go back to the mainstream tours?

Separately from that issue, it seems as if the funding would only be enough for 2027. Hard to imagine the league generates enough interest or money in one year to be self-sustaining going forward, so they’ll need another round of investment in 2028 that then dilutes everyone?

I just don't see what the selling point would be at that point for guys like Rahm/Hatton. Purses are being axed in half, and they're cutting the events down to 10. If they take away the guaranteed payments, how is staying on LIV more lucrative than just going back to the PGAT? Is the selling point owning equity in a team in a league that may not survive long-term?

Anyone who takes this deal needs to shoot their agent or manager.

Financial times is reporting the financial commitment is contingent on retaining star players (Bryson, Rahm).

The big names are demanding their contracts be paid out, but LIV needs PIF to fulfill them.

Will be interesting to follow, but as usual the news from the LIV side was greatly exaggerated.

Also rumors that a significant chunk of the “investment” might actually be structured as a loan as opposed to a pure investment, even if LIV can retain the star players.

Scott O’Neil is so full of shite. Which to be fair to him is arguably what his job calls for right now.
