Shot a pair of 91s this weekend in opposite fashion at the same course. Started the front nine really rough on Saturday, but then hit a groove on the back nine. That groove carried over to Monday and then I fell apart on the back.

CSB

That's golf for ya!

And I took that personally…

In all seriousness, that sounds exactly like golf to me. Getting the four phases to meet up at the same time is very elusive. 300 yard drive? Flub the fifty yard approach. Shank the driver? Five iron dancing on the green.

I go through that crap all the time. Right now, I’m destroying the back, but the front is eating my lunch. Nothing bad but just stupid bogies. I’m going 40/35 or something close to it. Annoying

I shot 41/35 today

Getting all phases to line up in one round is like the elusive OT10 unicorn. It just never happens.

I thought I was going to once, God decided however that was just not going to happen and rained out the last 3 holes.

-13 through 15

Next day

Drivable par 4….bogey
Short par 4….bogey
Easily reachable par 5….bogey

If you’ve ever played Twin Pines near Russellville you know how easy 2-3 under would have been on the last 3 holes. Especially when you’re on.

My lowest round ever was 68 with 6 birdies and a double. That was 10 years ago and I still think about that par 3 I doubled.

The great thing about golf is you’re competing against yourself.

I had one round where everything worked just right. Shot 36 on front with nine pars, then proceeded to shoot 30 on the back with a hole in one on the 11th. Had a 15 foot eagle putt on last hole to shoot 29, but settled for a birdie. It was like an out of body experience on the back nine. Next day shot like an 83 and nothing worked. Only other time I broke 70 was a 34-34.

Shot +11 on the first 5 holes Sunday before last. Told myself I haven't play in a while, just have fun with the rest of the round. Proceeded to shoot +5 on the last 13 holes with 8 pars and thought I found something. Shot 107 this past Monday.

I shot a 45/35 yesterday. I was paired with an older gentleman on the front nine who was very deliberate and short off the tee as well as very chatty.

Sometimes just taking the "Have Fun" approach is the best. Almost everytime I blow up on the front, I take that approach and do really well on the back.

I was one over thru 7 holes the other day. It’s funny the nerves I had on 8 just trying to maintain.
Went quad double to finish.

I’m not all that great, but I had a similar round at The Wetlands two weeks ago. I shot 41/58.

Never said I was good. I'm just a weekend hacker and play when I can.
