Really? I have never heard that before.

PGA?
I thought you might link someone important like Dan Jenkins or someone from Augusta National.

People that don't know how to enjoy themselves on a golf course and get pissed off at every little thing.

People that talk about how they played so much better last round, after every bad shot

What is your handicap?
I don't play much anymore so I don't have a handicap. I played 4 times last year and didn't shoot over 76.

Is it different now than when you were 285 guy?
When I did play a lot it was a +2/+3. So to answer your question, yes. Was my handicap lower then because I hit it further than I do now? No.

Now you know that no one on the interwebz will believe that you hit it further than they think you do or have a lower handicap than they think you do.
Distance doesn’t always = lower handicap either. Ten years ago I was 15-20 yds longer with driver as a 12-14 (swing hard and hope) but I hit way more fairways now and get up and down much better.

Not true. I believe reasonable things that are on the internet. Also tend to doubt things that have less than 1% chance of being true. I could go through this logically and tell you why the average scratch golfer does not hit it that far if you'd care to, but you know what the story is. Almost everybody hits it shorter than they think they hit it.
For all I know he could have been a PGA Tour player and a plus two or three who hits it that far certainly should be. To be a plus two or three you have to have the complete game and if you hit it that far you have more game than most.

Top 4:
1. Bomb a drive and hit a bad approach
2. Hit a chip/pitch thin and it scoots across the green
3. Putting for birdie and walk off with a bogie
4. Have a great round going and throw up a triple

I assume he meant 285 total...in summer factoring in roll and course conditions that very doable
Lower handicaps know how far they carry each club so I can believe it.

It’s crazy you say this. It’s exactly what I’ve been told for years but didn’t understand until a couple of weeks ago.

I haven't seen the absolute worst one written yet. Calling a course and asking if it is cart path only due to rain, being told no, then showing up to find it is indeed cart path only.

Not likely at all, tbh. Maybe some drives go that far...I assume that is the average. That means some will be longer. How many courses allow their fairways to get hard and firm to get big roll? How many courses have downhill landing areas on every hole?
As I said, it is possible, but highly unlikely.

Put me in the fairway with an 8 iron or shorter and I'm going to hit the green 8/10 times... put me on a tee box with the same and I hit the green 3/10... I have a mental block.
