Don’t need to. Just have to look the part. Am I right?

Srixons for sure. Best forged irons on the market. I have combo ZX7s and ZX5s. Love em

There are so many options - players irons, players distance irons, game improvement irons and max Game improvement irons. I’d suggest hitting some or get fitted

Go to some yard sales or Goodwill.

Clubs are clubs.
It’s the Indian not the arrow.

J/k, get fitted or at least go to a hitting bay at a store.

My current set of irons is the same Titleist DCI golds that I've had for 20+ years now. After some looking, the number of options out there are insane. I have no particular brand loyalty and looking for some recs of where I should start.

All depends on your budget and frequency of play. If you're a weekend golfer and just looking to have some fun, then I'd try to find a set of irons where the shaft profile closely resembles the ones you have now. Will shave off some frustration as you "learn" the new clubs.

If you're more than a novice, then go get fitted.

Honestly go get fitted amd get clubs that work for game..
If you've been swinging the same sticks for that long any new clubs will feel way different imho...

Plus this place has an unhealthy obsession with Srixon's

Very convincing argument... would read again

The funny parts of these arguments is that the Mizzy forge, Srixon forge, and Miura forge are all within a days drive of each other.

The rest is subjective.

ETA: People lean Srixon because their is no better forged iron at the price point.

You made my point. It’s a quality forged iron. I have a set of the 765s. They’re on par with Mizzuno and can be had for slightly cheaper depending on the setup. So their market is larger and people put them ahead of all the other “cheaper” irons from big OEMs who don’t give a shite about tolerances just output. It’s all they have experience with. Miura is on another level but not many people have hit them. Their process and quality control is second to none.

There's more to it than that. The sole grind is superior, for many players, than Mizzy.

The V sole is certainly a unique feature that lots of people seem to like.

Srixon ZX7. I never thought I would leave Mizuno. These make it seem like cheating compared to Mizuno.

I’m looking to switch from P790. What combo do you have? I’ve heard nothing but positive feedback regarding Srixon Z line clubs

Did they fix the P790 hot spot issues on the face? I wanted a set but recall that some sets would have a club or two in the set go w-yards further. They blamed the head jizz they squirt in there.

I love my Srixon. The V sole is legit tech. I think I may only have 1 or 2 chunks on mine. For me, that alone is enough for me to bag them forever.

I’m not sure if the issue has been fixed on newer sets. My set has the “hot face” issue. I’ll carry my 7 iron 165 all day on an easy swing. Then, all of a sudden here comes a 195 yard 7 iron, which may add 2 or more strokes to your round. Absolutely ridiculous.

I too have the 2021 790’s. Looking to switch myself.
