Putter Suggestions

If you needed a new putter and really did not have a budget what would you buy?

Probably a lab now that they have the new version with metal insert, but I currently play a derivation of putter that McIlory and Scotty play and it's not leaving the bag anytime soon.

Very early on in my LAB and really liking it so far. The technology behind it makes sense. There's a reason all the copy cats are popping up (though they are just zero torque and don't have the lie angle patent) and it is a very quality built putter. First time I've used something other than a Scotty in 20 years.

Spider, Tour X? Man I want one.
My only problem is you can’t scoop the ball up off the ground.

Just got the LAB Oz. Super solid - easy to line up - it took me a few rounds and some practice (a video on YouTube about ball placement and stroke with LAB helped). I really like it and confidence is building every round with it - it’s a better mousetrap

Did you do the online fitting or in person somewhere? Also how long did it take to come in?

I’m a putter ho.
Was on a spider x, then a Betty bb1, back to spider x3, which was pretty great but started to get shaky.
Just picked up a Betty innovai 6.0 and it feels 100x better than the spider x3 and can pick up a ball.
Betty’s just look better than anything out there to me. I like “cool” putters and spiders just seem cheap/gimmicky. It’s a damn fine putter tho.
That being said I’ll be ordering a green Lab Oz this year as well.

LAB, get fit online, love my new one

I know that wasn't directed to me but I did mine online. Took them about a week to get my fitting results back. I had placed my order when I did my online fitting and just told them to apply whatever my fitting said to the build. I want to say it took a month to get it from the order date. I think in the original email they said 4-6 weeks Might not be as long now as that was around black Friday/Christmas and when they released the new model.

I did the LAB online fitting but found one with my specs on the outlet site. Saved a couple hundred from new custom. I have only had a couple short practice sessions and one round with it, but I'm a big fan so far. In the round, I didn't miss a putt inside 10 feet, and I am in general not a confident putter. By the end of the round I walked up to the green I was going to drain the putt. Not having to worry about whether I would hit my line seems to free my mind to just worry about speed, which is my biggest issue.

LAB has so many different models now, so you can probably find a head shape that you like. I have a DF3 custom ordered and I love it… downside is that mine was $719 shipped but you could spend even more if you got the high end shaft. That’s a lot of money for a putter but I’m happy with the results.

I bought a LAB DF3 about 2 weeks ago and don't regret the purchase one bit! It has been a game changer for me from 10' and in, it does have a soft feel so lengthy puts are still a work in progress but I don't seem to miss many 3 to 6 footers anymore.

I have a 20 year old Scotty Studio Stainless. Find something you like, and stick with it.

It is amazing so many people are recommending the LAB putters.

I’m a self proclaimed putter ho and I have a LAB Mezz Max on the way lol. Excited to try it out

Try to find someone local to you or go to a big box store and spend some time before you buy. It’s a big price tag for something that you may not like and would have a hard time selling if you get it custom fit. You’d have to find someone that’s looking for specific specs

I have done that several times over the past few months. I have tried several LAB putters but have not found a OZ to try. I wanted to see if someone suggested something that I have not tried yet.
