he's posted rounds under 70? lol, not a fricking chance he ever has broken 70.
He posted a 69 in May at a course with a 71.5 rating.

If you want to believe a guy who had an entire series trying to break 90 from the blues shot a 104 at Oakmont from 7300 yards, you're well within your rights to believe that.

A 4 handicap doesn’t have multiple shanks off the tee with both irons and driver.
Posted on 6/12/25 at 9:40 pm to ell_13
Exactly. I’m close to that and haven’t skull fukt one in 10 years.

A 4 doesn’t shoot a 106 at Oakmont,
Friend from our club group has played it and shot 90. He’s a 9-10.
He said the greens are super slow in non championship format and significantly easier than what these guys are facing. Rough is very tough but you just have to take your medicine and not try to be a hero.
He said if the greens were this fast, it’d be like playing ping pong around the greens if you end up in the rough but when they’re slow, the ball stops which is obviously similar conditions to the Barstool guys.
I could 100% see Riggs shooting a 125+ with greens like this afternoon.

What an intelligent, well thought out post. Pretty soon your IQ will surpass that of a pencil. Keep striving.

The announcers in the Keopka, Lee, and Thomas group right now are legitimately debating if a 10 handicap could break 200 out here today. That's averaging an 11 on every hole...
Saying they might be able to do it if they have a spotter and just putt balls down the fairway.
With a spotter and a caddie, a 10 handicap beats 200 by 70+ shots easily. It's one of the most difficult courses in the world and set up for the U.S. Open, but the hyperbole is insane.

If they are saying the 10 has to play the same conditions as the pros, then they should get the extra benefits pros get. So, that means a spotter.
I'm a 10 handicap. I haven't shot in triple digits in 4 years. My average score in the last 20 is 85.6. I completely understand that the courses I play are not only much shorter than this, but also way, way easier. Still, I'm not going to shoot 114 (over 6 shots per hole) more than my average. That's ridiculous.

What in the absolute frick is going on in this featured group feed?
They are debating, and saying that they can’t, whether a TEN handicap can break 200 at this setup.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard professionals on television have a conversation this retarded in my life. They’re actively explaining how a 10 can’t break 200.

Yeah, an amateur having to re-tee not being able to find a ball that they know is in play and not OB or in a hazard simply because the rough is long and they don't have spotters like the pros do is one of my least favorite rules in golf. Should be a free drop in the area about where you think it is, similar to when your ball gets inadvertently moved by an animal or another ball after it comes to rest and you place it closest to where you think it originally was.
As a 4 with solid power, I'd be ecstatic with anything in the 80s out there today, and totally satisfied with anything in the 90s. That rough combined with the length, slim fairways, and lightning greens is no joke. 200 for a 10 handicap is fantasy land though.

Hit a shot past the hole and went 20 yards off the front of the green.

So the guy in DFL this week is grinding to break 90 today, shot a 47 on the front and is only +3 on the back. His name is George Duangmanee. He was an AA at UVA in college last year. He's played in one Tour event this year and made the cut. So basically, Trent may only be 14 shots worse than this guy
