Like them or not, My Golf Spy always has interesting takes. Top 5 golf balls by swing speeds.

105-120mph
5. Srixon Z-Star
4. Titleist ProV1
3. Bridgestone Tour B-RX
2. Titlest Tour Speed
1. Titleist ProV1x left dash

90-105mph
5. Vice Pro
4. Callaway Chrone Soft X-LS
3. Bridgestone Tour B-XS
2. TaylorMade Tour Repsonse
1. Maxfli Tour CG

Below 90
5. Titleist Tour Speed
4. Bridgestone Tour B-X
3. Vice Pro Plus
2. Titleist AVX
1. Titleist ProV1x left dash

LINK

My swing speed is in the low 100s and the Maxfli Tour has been a great fit for my game. Same, if not better, performance than TP5s and at better price point.

I use the Tour Speed.

86mph. Don’t laugh.

Well, don’t laugh too hard.

So they are saying that the Z Star is longer than the Z Star X ?

Interesting that the left Dash is in both categories. Can you even get those any more ?

For me, the TP5X has been as long or longer than a lot of the other premium balls.

I should probably get my speed checked. It would be good to know.

In my 60’s I don’t think it matters all that much though

I've been playing the TP5 exclusively for the last 2 years but I'm starting to notice that it's spinning too much off the driver with this new Sim2 Max driver I have. It's not sidespin either, I hit a draw but I kind of hit my driver like a forehand in tennis so it has some top spin. It's just not going as far as it should when I connect with one. My SS is 95-100 range. Longest drives are usually 265-275 if I piss on one.

I'm about to get a dozen TP5x to see if this helps at all. Have you played both 5/5x? Notice a big difference if so?

That's what they should be. 100 mph swing speed should be like 240 carry

Yep. When I measured my SS and distances on the trackman/hitting bay at my club, it was using Titleist practice balls, so not sure if that makes a difference. It's really just more of a visual and feeling I am getting that the ball should be going further when I hit what felt like a good one. It's not a massive loss, maybe 10 yards or so. Just wondering if anyone has used both the 5 and 5x and noticed a difference.

you sure it's the ball and not your driver? And have you actually had your spin rate measured because a 265-275 yard drive with 100 mph club head speed sounds about right for someone with a normal spin rate.

The tour B XS and tour B RX are in the working category according to Bridgestones recommendations.

I’m seriously shocked the TP5X didn’t make the list.

Not surprised at all about the prov1x left dash. That’s a great ball

You realize this is virtually impossible right?

Did they average in different deliveries at said speed? Impact location, spin loft, and AOAs are going to make a major difference in which ball is the longest for a particular player.

The science of ball flight is interesting to me. How the inner layers affect driving and long iron conditions and the outside affects short irons and wedges. “Longest ball” with swing speed being the only variable tracked is a joke. There’s so much more to it.

A guy in our group who is a 6hcp and a very steady golfer plays nothing but Pinnacle Gold balls.

He buys the 18 pack at Academy for 20 bucks and laughs at us paying 48.00 for premium balls.

Crazy, but he can stop that ball on a dime and he crushes it off the tee.
