I don't recall SM hosting a State Am qualifier in recent memory, not that I would trust one of their marshals. But I know the BREC qualifier for the City Championship and BR Am are tipped out, so that may be what he is thinking of.
But I recall playing Copper from one up one year in the late 2000s. If they play that course from one up, I wouldn't be shocked to see them shorten SM.

Sounds like the accused hit a ball or possibly multiple in the general direction of a hazard and then allegedly found their ball which his playing partners believe could not have been up. Whether or not the ball was up or we have a case of alleged hole in the pocket is yet to be determined.
Seems like a good chance to clear up the situation since we are all here so it can quit derailing threads.

One was found (by someone else in the group). It was hacked out and made bogey. The other wasn’t found, dropped a new one and made double. That’s it.

Yes, in south la. Being from the north I can tell you for some reason you just dont see much participation up there when the LGA events are in the south.
