He did it the entire back 9. It was intentional IMO.

His group played a 6 hour round and it was largely due to him. I can’t imagine the frustration when you’re playing with that dude.

No shite! I love being on the course, but I like to be able to get up to my ball and hit. I hate being knocked out of rhythm like that. Holmes deserves the shite he is getting.

He’s a notoriously slow player and it gets worse when he’s in contention. I’m not sure he was intentionally trying to ice Noren, but it was still bullshite. The tour should have had him on the clock several holes before and dinged him there.

over 4 minutes to decide on a shot is ridiculous and he should've been penalized. It's a complete violation of the rules. I can't imagine taking 6 hours for a threesome to play a round of golf. That sounds miserable.

Was Holmes' group ever out of position?

yes they had at least one full hole between them and the next group. That was strictly due to Holmes slow play throughout the day.

Then he should have been given a warning. I don't know if he was.

He would had been too long with a 3 wood and too short with the 5 wood. Plus the wind was blowing in his face with water in front of a sloping green. Of course he was contemplating the shot. I sure a miss hit would had cost him so major cash. He ended up birding the hole and finished second.

You don't need to defend him just because he went to Kentucky. Just like I don't need to defend Bubba when he acts childish on the course. He ended up finishing 4th too, but I guess that's not your main point.

He was roasted pretty good by the media, SM, and a LOT of peers. Someone else pointed out that he wasn't first to hit, Ryan Palmer was, so he actually had about 6 minutes to make up his mind over the ball.

I like watching him and pull for him but that was too much.

You're way off here. If it happens it's because they're waiting on the group in front, this never happens with a clear green and multiple tour pros are blasting Holmes about it.

Whoa, he was 2 back at the time and the 18th is easily accessible for a second shot for an eagle which was still in play for him. The problem was he was either going to be extremely long with the 3 wood or it would had found water with his 5 wood with the wind. It was painful to watch...but I am sure he was contemplating whether to go for the hope of going for the eagle or lay up for the birdie for a nice check.

I don’t believe the group was warned and placed on the clock.

I'm good with taking a little longer on the last hole in contention, but that was rediculous. There's no way you can try to defend that, at some point you just have to hit the shot.

I agree. I’m just expressing in my opinion why he took so long on the 18th fairway...if they’re were not on the clock...him and his caddie could not decide what was the best option...and he was grinding it out on the back 9...he was probably thinking which shot was going to get me the biggest paycheck or the contention of getting in the playoff. It was a miracle the way he was playing on the back 9 to even have a chance for the win.
