Why can’t we just call bullshite bullshite anymore? Do you truly believe that’s his reason for not playing?

Idk. Golf isn't his hobby, it's his job. Why do you think he's turning it down? Scared of the competition? Again, I don't watch him all that much, but I will watch his matches with tour pros and he seems pretty grounded and realistic when talking about his game. I think he claims a +3 or so handicap. Ain't nobody acting like a +3 is touring pro level. It's not like he's promoting some image that he is a pro-level golfer or anything.

Because his entire allure is “he could play with the big boys”

Just like Anthony Kim had an allure. You go out and prove you actually really aren’t that great and it’s gone

No. Can't stand them. I play once every 2 months and I could beat 75% of them. If I played as much as they do I'd be on a lower level tour

I have no idea why anyone would think that. That's not the vibe I get from the videos I've watched with him in them. idk maybe you watch more of his content than me.

If he went out and got absolutely dusted I think it would be a hit for him

His vibe and popularity to me is he is the best of the YouTube golfers

I mean he is boring and the most vanilla human being possible. Why else are people watching him constantly?

He probably couldn’t film the actual rounds, but I bet he could’ve recorded practice rounds and stuff around the tournament for some good content.

The Bryan Bros worked around this and filmed plenty of content when George got a sponsors exemption for the same tournament. It’s not like anyone is going to let Grant have a personal film crew to follow him around and let him commentate his round like he does on YouTube. I honestly think Grant is copping out because he’s scared of playing bad in a real tournament

His allure is “I have a smooth arse swing and I’m pretty personable”. Props to him for taking it and running, he’s gone from doing dumb shite with Good Good to partnering up with Phil and playing against other LIV guys, getting millions of views in the process.

Get the Tour’s stance 100%, but I never got the sense he thought he was as good as the Tour Pros.

And I’m getting tired of the YouTube golf, feel like they’ve wrung dry what made it original. Used to watch a fair amount, now really nothing.

Weird that anyone would think that after routinely getting beat by the Bryans most of the times they all play together. Anyone who even loosely follows this stuff knows Wesley is barely good enough to sneak into some bottom of the barrel events and that George's best weekend is good enough to lose money on the KFT.

Why would anyone think Horvat "could hang with the big boys"? He's played many of the big boys and the pretty much all beat the crap out of him after walking from their car to the first tee box.

He doesn't seem that way, he doesn't have the "prepping for Q School" content and such.

I think that is what happened to "Mr. Personality himself" Micah Morris - he had this persona of a legit aspiring pro and if I remember right, he bombed in the first real competitive rounds on camera...What happened to that guy after that????

Grant has a good thing rolling, why mess it up by taking a chance to shoot a Rd 1. 88..

(I bet he COULD be competitive, especially with that tournaments lineup)

I’ve been watching some of their stuff lately Wesley Bryan is annoying as frick.

Grant seems like a nice guy but this decision is dumb

Grant does seem like a very nice guy but passing up on playing a tour event is incredibly soft. If you get boat raced just say it’s because these guys are extremely good and the pressure got to me.

It does scream protecting the image to me.

In his 1 v 1 matches against pros he gets a 5 shot cushion and it always comes down to the end. He gets dusted by George Bryan, a 36 year old former college golfer without any status, almost every time they play. Grant does not have the game to compete against touring pros. Wesley Bryan who was a bottom tier touring pro beats him pretty easily on bad days. He’s just a good golfer for the YouTube space.
