Carter is ruined. Typical Louisiana.

Man am I just complaining or what, went to Carter today and my goodness it is not what it used to be. I remember playing there in college. Course always immaculate range top tier. And all the trees (especially down 18 fairway) made it feel like the beautiful secluded course. Not anymore unfortunately.

Also that was in like 2009 so it’s been a while lol

Agreed - played a couple of weeks ago and was shocked at the condition. Especially after paying $100+

The housing development ruined the feel of carter.

Home lined course in the swamp just doesnt feel the same as when turkeys used to walk the fairways this time of year.

You can keep Bill though

The 9’a need to go back to how they were for one. Used to always be turkeys by the 16th tee box.

Scratched from my listed of courses played. Frustrating pace of play just ruins it for me,

Played it the first time (and last) a couple months ago. Took us almost 5 hours. Found myself in-between clubs a lot. Plugged a couple. Greens were FAST. Like unnecessarily fast.

This is a big issue at any decent public course in the BR and extended area. After several 5+ hour rounds at different courses I just gave up. Courses get clogged up with bunch of drunk middle-aged clowns trying to get away from their families for as long as possible and no marshals anywhere in sight.

Please please please don’t play there. Especially next Wednesday! Stay at Santa Maria or Beaver Creek or Oak Knoll. I’m begging all yall, thanks so very much

Why the downvote ma’am? Carter takes 7.5 hours to play, the staff is rude, it’s overpriced and those darn fast greens? Stay away!!! Forever!

We had a tournament out there yesterday. Due to Friday nights rain, the range was closed and it was carts on path, which it was plenty dry enough to at least have the cars at 90 degrees. I thought the course was in pretty good shape. $108.dollars worth, not sure but it is better than going to SM. SM's greens are in horrible shape.

It sucks to hear this. I lived 15 minutes from the course back in 2022 and it was great. I went once or twice a week and loved it. Been hearing how they stack up tee times now and havent wanted to make the drive from BR back.

Louisiana has a special talent for fricking up some of the easiest things. It’s like they are intentionally trying to beat Arkansas for the worst state in the South for golf.

I would say Louisiana is the worst. Public golf in south LA is a nightmare.

Arkansas has multiple well funded elite tracks (Alotain, Texarkana CC, etc) well within top 200 in US.

Louisiana has none and is the worst golf state in the US.

There’s no such thing as 90 degree rule unfortunately. If it’s off the path the Jethro is taking his cart all over God’s green earth. Including over roped off areas and over signs. This is the same jackleg that will come to TD to bitch about course conditions

It sucks to what they've done with what is now hole 18. Chopped all the trees down to put some crappy looking small houses that have plywood over their windows due to everyone hitting balls into them.
