Anyone play old man golf?

I am a high handicapper. I can be a decent player at times, but I mostly flirt with 100. I’ve shot around 90 consistently when I was playing a lot. I’m trying to get back to that.
Anyways, Old Man Golf (or Old Mother Loving Gangbang golf if you watch some YouTubers) is about playing smart. You never approach 100% power on a swing. Nice and smooth and easy, but not particularly hard. Maybe 70%.
You frequently hit higher lofted clubs and give up distance for predictability and playability. You also hit lower chip and pitch shots rather than anything in the air.
I’m gonna try in a 9 hole round today.

think of it this way...
450 yard par 5
150 yard 7 iron, off the tee and twice more, puts you on the green, 2 putt par, if it's a 450 yard par 4, that gives you a bogey and bogey golf is a smooth 90.....carry on

Someone who can consistently hit a 7 iron 150 yards probably doesn’t need to play this way. But I agree with the overall concept. Go to an LPGA event and watch the women play. They’re not long, but they have good swings and tend to keep it in play. A lot of men would benefit modelling their games after the women.

I can consistently hit a 7i 150 yards.
The last round I had, I consistently hit driver in the fairway about 270. The problem is the round before - I hit driver 250, but it was about 250 yards left of the tee too.
