The State Am starts Thursday @ CCL. Really good field at a great course. Anyone want to make predictions on who wins or the winning 4 day total?

My prediction: Derek Busby -- 284 total

Just hoping I make the cut. My goal is even for the tourney (288). I think youre underestimating a tad at 284.

I was looking at the fees last week - my junior golfer is wanting to play in the junior state am - not cheap with the hotel room...still a helluva lot cheaper than travel baseball

Had too much going on, may look into the mid am at Bayou Oaks..... if you have the game to qualify, $225 is worth the qualifying round and a minimum of 2 rounds at CCL allday everyday, if you can play good golf then 5 rounds of golf for $225 is a steal with 4 being @ CCL.

Couldn't agree more with your statement. The entry fees are really fair considering what you get. But I do understand that for those traveling, the extra lodging and food costs get pricey.

I haven't played a full round of golf since last years state am ... I'm just hoping to break 90

ETA: Blaine Patin with a 280

Kind of an easy pick, being the Assistant Club Pro at the course being played and all....

I like the pick!

There's two Blaine Patin's that play golf in Louisiana.

Well then. That makes a lot more sense than I was going with. Thanks for the clarification.

Gonna take more that -4 to win this one. Too many college golfers in the field.
