You can save your progress per layer. There are rewards after each layer. The mount is the reward for completing the 8th layer.
You have to complete Layer 1 to gain access to Layer 2, etc.

Shadowlands is looking pretty good so far IMO. There has been a lot of community feedback and Blizzard has actually made some changes according to the feedback. So that gives me some hope for a solid expansion, even if it's not polished at launch. Which, October launch to me seems pretty early.
Legion was a good expansion to me (not great) but BFA was so up and down it's at the bottom of my list.
I've been playing classic after I got burnt out of the raid tier and grinding M+. It's a nice change, even with it being the same game, it's so different game play wise it feels good.
When SL comes out it's back to retail for me.

I do know you have the option of restarting either where you left off exactly, or at the least at the start of last phase you were working on.

Pre-launch patch download hit the servers today, about 19 gigs. I'm thinking we will get pre-patch on the 29th.

No one talks to each other in retail. It’s like playing a mmorpg solo. Classic was a lot better. I played the classic relaunch for about 5 months

Pre-patch event launches this Tuesday, expansion officially drops Monday night before Thanksgiving.
I've been working on getting all classes to max level with iLvl of 80 or so. I'm there with all but the rogue, which for some reason I just cannot get into.

Rogue just doesn't have the same satisfaction as it use to for me. I think after hybrid classes became up to par damage wise it was really boring only being able to melee dps.

Haven’t heard anything about this.
Heavy rumors that they will release BC, no specifics as to whether or not they’ll keep Classic servers and create BC servers with optional transfers, or if they’ll just upgrade Classic servers.
ETA: I checked out with the launch of Kung Fu Panda

I think BC being added to classic has been confirmed. Its Wrath that is just rumors at this point.
