Well, we went to another dimension and killed a lot of warlords on a different version of Draener. Think like Rick and Morty type shite.
Then we came back home to Azeroth579 and the fricking legion invaded! We killed them all, but Sargares stabbed Azeroth579 with a giant miles high sword. Not good.
Then, we went to troll land and Kul Tiras because we decided we hated each other again. Varian is dead by the way. So is Vol'jin. We fought some and tried to heal Azeroth579, but apparently haven't got that done yet.
In the middle of fighting, another old god popped up and we had to kill him or her too.
Sylvanas is bad now too. Not bad like she's always been, but like really bad bad.
Dont think I missed too much. Do you need the story lead in for Shadowlands too?

sounds like timeless isle. I have no idea what is going on in the story and I've played every expansion

well we did get fat humans and robot gnomes, and horde got furries - so there is that

I skipped all but the first couple months of BFA so I’m missing something. Why is my orc helping Anduin and Jaina? I just saved them. Are we just letting bygones be bygones? Sorry about the whole ‘burning down your tree’ incident?

Totes. Hatred for Sylvanas has united the Horde and Alliance.
As for the forest fire, Tyrande channeled the power of Elune and became the Night Warrior. She's insanely powerful and is on a blind hatred warpath looking for Sylvanas.
She has not forgotten the forest fire. I'm pretty sure she would strike down even Anduin if he stood between her and Sylvanas, and she would be plenty powerful to do it to.
She's over 9000

WoW’s art team is still top-notch. Oribos looks great.

Thank God Oribos is a circle like ironforge. Makes life so much easier

There are some real hidden gems in the quest texts if you pay attention.

I'm about 6 hours in and it's not grabbing me like I thought it would. I don't really care for any of the characters either

If you play WOW for the story then you either don't play WOW at this point or you don't play for long. If you are not really into raiding, keys, pvp or being a collector/completionist of some sort there's no real reason to play the game. If raiding wasn't a thing in the game I wouldn't bother. I dropped out of WOD and skipped Legion because I couldn't raid anymore. Came back for BFA and raided and stuck it out the whole way through because the competitive part keeps me going. Hoping to get more into keys this time around since it will be easier to have alts. My main (lock) is not very sought after for this so it was hard to pug good groups.

i think it's more i'm over having Sylvanas as the big bad. reminds me of the new star wars"
"shite, we killed the big bad the last movie, who do we have left?"
"the emperor?"
"frick YEAH, bring em back"

If this expansion comes to a close and we haven't freed the runecarver, I may just set my computer on fire. I'm not sure there is a more miserable figure in WOW right now.

Other quick thoughts:
Ardenweald had the most emotionally invested story for long time players
Ravendreth had the most witty and well written quest texts. Just fun to go through
Maldraxis felt like the smoothest to flow through
Bastion was beautifully designed, but it felt like the zone just dragged and dragged on.
The maw nails the intended theme. Desolate. Hopeless. Jailer's eye mechanic serves its purpose perfectly.
Torgast is just... fun. Nailed it.
Biggest complaint is Ardenweald visually as a frost DK. There was so much blue tinted and blue photosynthetic ground cover that combined with my spell effects and warnings it just caused some real eye fatigue issues for me. Maybe it would not have been so straining if I turned my spell density down significantly, but I think some design that requires that is just poor.

I am still in Bastion and only level 53. I haven't had too much time to play. The xpac so far is not bad- it is just more of the same. I am looking forward to Torghast, though.
It is way too early for me to make any assessment. I am just going to slowly move through the quests and play as long as I have the interest.
I wish I could go back to the days of progression raiding. I have not done that since WotLK. No time for it these days. I don't think the game has gotten worse, per se. I just think I can't play it at its optimal level for enjoyment.

So at what point does Baroness Draka meet her adult son?
Posted on 11/25/20 at 6:27 pm to CGSC Lobotomy
She hasn't for me yet, but I have some more campaign to go yet (just unlocked Runecarver).

If you roll Necrolord, she makes a comment about this during campaign.
Sylvanas is Legion Gul'dan.
Pay attention to what people say about the Maw, and who is exactly in it.

Seeing all these characters from the past is really cool. I couldn't believe I saw Uther when I first started leveling.
