Probably review copies sent out to limited number of people and the embargo lifted . Meaning all reviewers were allowed to discuss it on same date .
But I agree, I’ve seen overwhelmingly negative reviews, even by reviewers who are usually pretty neutral and never really bash on games. Even when the games deserved it . For example Jake from Gameranx is a huge Wolverine fanboy and has been waiting for this game and he tried hard to say some positive things about the game, but the negatives seem to heavily outweigh them

people just need to play the game and make judgements for themselves. I bought and I can't wait to play. Insomniac makes good games.

I canceled my preorder after learning SBI was attached.
I am taking the AC Shadows approach. I'll wait to hear WoM post-release. Too much weirdness around the title to just blindly buy.

Initially they are making him out to be an Xavier type figure. Given his comic history, I’m not sure if this is a red herring. Just found it an interesting way to include him.
Insomniac is definitely going with their own continuity here based on my knowledge of x men backstory.
Open to a different version of events and trying to avoid being prejudiced by sbi or any negative initial impressions.

Luke Stephens, a generally very positive game youtuber, said it is mid (and he calls even THAT being generous)
He went in skeptical of online claims that the game is “watered down,” too easy, and built for casual players. After roughly two hours he lands on a mixed-to-negative take: it works, but it feels dated, overly guided, and unremarkable.
Says the combat is too easy and repetitive. Got old really fast.
Narrative is ok, but unremarkable and forgettable.
Overall verdict in the video: mid at best on the default experience. Linear structure, excessive UI hand-holding, and simple combat keep it from feeling like a standout Insomniac title.
I was surprised he was so negative on the game. He likes damn near everything. Hell, he initially recommended Veilguard, before he played the other DA titles.

I dont get the hate for this game. Seems likes its the popular thing to do. Its basically the spiderman games with a less popular main character. Spidey has the webs and gadgets that offer more variety than a mutant with claws who can heal. Its not gonna win any writing or story awards but its a fun button masher. I haven't finished it yet but im having fun so far.

Instead of going after people not liking it, offer reasons why you do.
I am not opposed to buying it. I cancelled my preorder due to SBI alone. When they are attached, games become "wait and see" for me.
I was concerned early on because the writing team is weak. But that wasn't a deal breaker.
The complaints I am hearing about the game are:
-QTE's are un-failable but for boss fight ones
-Completely on rails linear
-Super easy on all difficulties
-Combat is repetitive and gets boring after a while
-UI holds your hand and leads you everywhere
-Logan is soft and kind to everyone outside of combat
-Women look old and/or like trannies
Not saying I agree with all these, but you asked.
Now what specifically did you like/enjoy about it?
