Weirdly, they're releasing this on Battle.net? I didn't know that was still a thing for anything but Blizzard games.

I’ll be curious about what, if any, changes they make for the “remaster” compared to the “next gen update” from a few years ago.

Likely applying new tech to an old game, minimal effort required.

They said it was going to have graphical updates, combat improvements, new monster fights, and also listed out a whole slew of other things like "XBox Play Anywhere" support and things like that.

I maintain that this battle.net partnership is the weirdest part of this entire announcement.

The medallion is humming… It’s the beginning of a game-changing partnership!
We’re happy to announce that we’ve partnered with @Blizzard_Ent to bring the world of The Witcher to @battlenet. Starting today, you can pre-purchase The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, which launches on September 29, and wishlist Songs of the Past, coming in 2027, on Battle.net.
“Both CD PROJEKT RED and Blizzard Entertainment create worlds that allow players to immerse themselves in captivating adventures for hundreds of hours. Both studios have always had the ambition to raise the bar — for themselves and, in doing so, for the video game industry. Their worlds and characters have inspired not only other game developers, but also musicians, filmmakers, cosplayers, and, of course, countless players.” — Radek Grabowski, our Global PR Director
And that’s just the beginning of our partnership with Blizzard…
Hear more from Radek and from our Expert Community & Social Media Manager Amelia Korzycka about the journey that brought CD PROJEKT RED and Blizzard together — and where it might take us next: LINK
See you on the Path!

The one thing about the announcement that bugs me. I know if I play, I will still be compelled to clear all of those damn question marks.

Its been a while since I've played. I'll need to sharpen my skills again because this will kill my mods. But it will be worth it.

Wasn't it named something like bovine defense force or something awesome like that???
I found that one au natural and IRL went "OH frick" right before I got maimed.
Very excellent addition there.

They're likely just doing what no mans sky is doing. Pushing updates to 3 to test them out for 4.
