What is wrong with Xbox?

I'm pretty neutral on the console wars thing, but Microsoft's acquisition of Zenimax and the possible acquisition of Activision/Blizzard are BFDs, and I don't think they've been given enough time to show the true impact.

I’ve been holding off on a next gen console purchase. Been an Xbox guy since 2005. PS5 will be my next console purchase as the titles are way more enticing.

I have both Series X and PS5, and in my opinion the Series X is a better console. The same games look and play better on Xbox. But yeah, zero exclusives outside of Halo.

I probably watch the same DF content as Carson and in their analysis it really is back and forth between the two as far as frame rate and resolution depending on the title. My kids and I are on Xbox and everyone is happy with the content drops on GamePass...so is my wallet. Ill get a PS5 when they refresh and or price drop.

Phil has done an amazing job in many respects. But he has ultimately dropped the ball in what is his most important responsibility as head of Xbox. He has failed to put in place proper leadership that can manage each game studio to develop high quality games in a decently timely manner.

They are failing completely in project management. Xbox is giving each of the studios plenty of money resources, and has given them industry standard time ( or more) and they consistently deliver below grade quality often times at a severe delay.

I've bought both during the PS3/PS4 era. And have flirted with the PS5 digital edition. But when I look at the exclusives for PS5, frankly they don't appeal to me enough to double up.

Hoping these acquisitions pay off...especially Bethesda. I just like the Xbox feel/ecosystem.

Amazing that they pissed away a dominant lead (in the US at least) after the 360.

I felt like xbox was on the rise with the original console being pc-like during its gen and then the 360 just being the better option during its, but going into the eigth gen Microsoft shite the bed. The horrible reveal of xbone followed by the PR nightmare that that one guy (sweet billy) was involved in really screwed things up for them going into that gen after they had made so much ground with the 360.

Add in Sony getting their heads out of their asses and making something that devs could easily work with and was not fricktarded (ps3 RAM was not shared between gpu and cpu like 360 did), and the writing was pretty much on the wall. I don't subscribe to any side in the "console wars" because I'm a PC gamer and enjoy exclusives for each system, but Microsoft only got the sales they have from the current gen because of everyone staying home during covid and the silicon shortage. When people could not get an ampere or RDNA gpu, or a ps5, they got the next thing after.

However I do expect their numbers to start jumping in the near future. With the Bethesda acquisition, previous Obsidian acquisition, and then the more than likely Activision acquisition, people will be forced into the xbox or PC to play a lot of exclusives.
