This is all on the condition that this expansion is as good as hearts of stone and blood and wine
I was way late and got everything quite discounted - having said that, Hearts of Stone had a great story, but in no way justified full price. Blood and Wine would have been a good value even at full price.

Hearts of stone was 9.99 when it launched and Blood and Wine was 19.99.
I think Hearts of stone at 9.99 is fair and fine especially with the amount of free dlc they put into the game throughout its life cycle.
It definitely evens out even if you don’t agree with that because blood and wine brought far more value than the 20$ it originally cost. It is essentially an entire 20-40 hour video game in its own right.

Sorry - I didn't have that context and popped off without it. I stand corrected. With that context, both should rightly be considered great values even at launch price.

Did you think they were both 30$ originally?

No. I figured $20.

mean, for the record, the Ciri sequences were my least favorite part of 3. If Witcher 4 is truly going to be all Ciri, all the time, I will probably pass. I will likely play this expansion, though.
Same here on Ciri sequences, but I think that was mostly because it threw me off switching play styles for a seemingly short time. Felt kinda useless. I feel the same way when playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and they do that with Godwin.
Playing with just Ciri from start to finish won't bother me, as long as they pull off the execution with explaining how she becomes a Witcher and I assume loses most of her powers.

I wonder what songs of the past is a reference to.
On its face it almost gives the opposite implication to what we all assume this to be, a narrative bridge into Witcher 4.
Maybe it’s a reference to the area of the continent it will take place on, some place from Geralt or Ciris past.
Witcher 4 takes place in Kovir; somewhere Geralt never goes to in the books or the games.
If they make a new map it could be a reference to Zerekania, which does have ties to Ciris past in the books and it’s also where the school of the manticore is said to be, which is the only Witcher school we really know nothing about. It’s possible that’s where Ciri does whatever she does to end up the way she is in Witcher 4 there.
The alternative look option free dlc for Ciri also has her wearing what’s called “the latest fashion from zerrikania”
